My my my, right on time with all the recent UFO chatter:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/space/07/27/space.tourism.ap/index.html

UFO speak in the mainstream channels has been pretty active. Just saying.

All things considered, to me this thing is a fucking scrapheap.

To think this is the best tech available is an insult to one's intelligence, but as Jeff and I both postulated last week, its kinda funny that its excuse for living is:

Quote:
a commercial spaceship to loft rich tourists some 62 miles above Earth

And while we're at it, we had some talk last week about some of the footage used in this Larry King video:

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestoftv/2008/07/20/lkl.ufo.long.cnn

Some of its pretty neato. Way better sourced/quality of footage than what I've seen in the weeds, some of the crummy stuff seemed to have originated from what's seen here, especially the orb over the crop circle, and speaking of which, why is nobody near it showing *any* kind of reaction to it??? There's a few head scratching moments for those that watch closely.

Just curious what people think of these two particular burnt offerings from CNN and Co.

It was noted that all the presenters on King's show were named 'Bob'.

gotta love that 'Bob'....

Yeah, we raised the Bob specter. What's up with Bob's perpetual love affair with the Military/Industrial Complex?

It's funny, isn't it? On the one hand, Larry King, Discovery Channel, History Channel et al are giving us all sorts of interesting footage and bringing on credible people to discuss UFO's/ET's, and with the other hand they slap the viewer-"Crazy conspiraloons!"

Well, the crux of the discussion between Jeff and myself last week centered on context, or a lack of one. You have this great footage playing, some of which exists online albeit in much poorer quality. To the trained eye, seeing this stuff so cleaned up makes you wonder where the source originates from.

And in particular, there's the two satellite videos. The thing with the beam was pretty crazy on its own, but there's also that object silhoutetted. I wasn't sure if that was the Space Station or not. If so, what was the point of showing it, and if it wasn't, what the hell is it? I thought at first I was looking at that VALIS/Black Night thing, but who the hell knows?

My impression was they were passing off black tech footage as UFO captures. If that's the case, why would they want to encourage the UFO meme?

I wonder if there's a correlation between Larry King's UFO coverage and pending national elections?

Absolutely. And one of the biggest cons ever pulled off in modern history is that our atmospheric tech hasn't developed any further than around 1960s levels. And if you buy that then you won't have a problem buying the fact that the most popular personal transportation device on the planet still essentially uses technology first discovered around 1900.

Cell phones, computers, storage devices, all continue to get improved upon but heck, we're still not able to produce a jet that can take off from a runway and get into orbit. The Shuttle is the pinnacle of ground-to-orbital insertion.

Want to buy this bridge?

I wasn't able to see anything around it after several viewings, but I'll try looking again.

Of course, there's a conundrum with how this footage was acquired when the agency that most likely took it has a blanket denial policy regarding UFOs to begin with.

So who shot that footage, or who leaked it?

Take a good look at that hunk of doo in the original post. I'll bet Sanford and Son could make better 'space craft' than that miserable little wind bucket.

think you're referring to the king footage (?), and if we mean the same shot, then what i saw was a shot of the I-space-station seen from a shuttle, and the anomaly is off at 2 o'clock, right at the edge of darkness. (edit: i think.)

I'm thinking he is referring to the CNN clip, beginning @ the 2:26 min mark. Yes, on the right hand side, halfway down, at the 3 o'clock position, there is what appears to be a tiny blinking light ( structured/timed blinking -not random) that is slowly moving toward the station (moving toward the left horizontally). If this is the clip, it also has a part of what I too assume is the space shuttle occupying the top right side (from where the camera taking the footage would be located).

Are we seeing footage of existing exo-atmospheric kill vehicles, not UFO's? The next step for warfare is space, and high orbit.
I know that two years ago, a company I am very familiar with was testing orbital laser tethers. "Tractor Beams". They could be used to push/ pull other satellites and spacecraft just enough out of their path to ensure destruction...Mucho resources go into each satellite.
Governments are now arming these satellites...next step, death rays from orbit...yay!
