Regarding the masons, I suspect they are all over the place--at your local small businesses, etc. And I also suspect (don't know, just suspect) that these same people would be absolutely amazed that they could instill fear in anybody. A relative of mine told me recently that he had been approached by a person from his area who suggested he join the masons. As inducement, he was told that his business would do better if he joined. This relative said he didn't, that he has a distrust of secret societies. I kind of wish he would. I'd like to hear what an insider had to tell. Anyway, I guess my point is that there are probably so many of them that it doesn't pay to worry whether this person or that person is a mason or else you would burn yourself out if you knew who they all were. Not that you have nothing to worry about, just that I'm not sure "masonhood" is exactly the key characteristic to worry about.

Good to see you back, GDNO1.

Edited by: chiggerbit at: 2/15/06 9:22 am

another point that just came to my mind. if you were handled, why ? do you have any important job ? do you know something that may embarass someone important ? you say you don't date, so sexual exploitation is ruled out. handling usually has a goal (could be revenge as well, but still there would be an attempt to get something out of it).

Hava - I don't want to repeat my history, it's not something I like to write about. But I did share it in full when I first posted here. I don't know if or why I would have a handler, but I am referring to handlers of people who have survived ra.

I am going to pull back some from this relationship with the man from Cuba, stop seeing him as frequently, and see if that changes anything. I actually have a lot of work commitments right now so it is easy to do. Thanks for all your comments and advice.

PW - it is interesting that mc survivors report panic associated with driving. It was having a panic attack while riding in a car with someone that led my therapist and I to start unraveling some of my past. And once while in college, I had a flashback and panic attack while in the car with a friend. It was so upsetting that I literally jumped out of the moving car and ran screaming through a field. My friend had to chase me down and tackle me to get me to stop. I do have psychic moments and have most of my life, beginning around the time of the abuse. I have wondered if there is some connection.

Chiggerbit - thank you. You are right, trying to figure out who is a Mason would not be helpful. I posted asking for help after my friend had expressed great concern for my safety when I told her about this man's family connection to the Masons. It shook me up a bit. I am feeling much calmer, but still worry that this connection could be a factor that could lead to difficulties, even if there is no connection to my past involved.

A propos CUba, a bit of sidetrack....Israeli media is reporting that Cuba offered israel to open a local consulate in Havana, in light of the growing cooperation between the two countries. Israel filed an official request to the USA (????) and received a NO with a big N, and a request/order to decrease the number of tourist coming from Israel to CUba. However, the newspaper reports that for last several years, Cuba and Israel developed a special relationship. Nothing to do with the Cuban guy here, but just a bit of news by association.

chigger-
I know a Mason. He won't talk about anything to do with them.
He's a strange fellow. He's a Vietnam veteran and a democrat who hates George Bush, but he's also one of those Confederacy nuts- takes part in the re-enactments, flies the flag on the back of his truck, and sued our town when they wouldn't let him and a bunch of his fellow Rebel Yellers in full costume participate in last years Veterans Day parade with a huge Stars & Bars for good measure.
I gently reminded him that we lost the "War of Northern Aggression" and so our flag had been vanquished.
He took it in a good natured way; didn't threaten to put a Masonic curse on me or anything.

Edited by: sunny at: 2/19/06 6:07 am

There's something about anything "secretive" that automatically gets under my skin, puts me on edge. That's different than "private", respecting boundaries. Just don't like secrets.

Havana, do you think Israel will take orders like that? One of these days the US is going to get over its issues with Cuba, and those countries that have already had a smooth relationship with Cuba will likely be first in line to do business, I imagine. Do you suppose Israel is just waiting for Castro to die, maybe knows something?

I have no idea. its just that I am quite sure Israel is heavily involved in SRA/MC (officially and mainly as sub contractor for US spook agencies) and the thread mentioned Cuba, dissidents and potential abuses of that sort. An Israeli can also easily pass as Cuban..(I am going way too far here, but its MY paranoid thoughts every now and then).
---
I think Israel is in a pretty hard situation re the relations with the USA. Be advised, israel was the only country in the world that voted along the US in the UN to ban Cuba (with Micronesia, against 200 votes against the ban), which made our foreign office into a laughing stock in the whole world. Israeli gov is virtually asking permission and being denied that. However, israeli gov is the only one to blame for this total submission and colonization. If israeli gov wants Rice to back up every atrocity it can come with in the territories...it has to jump the loops. However, since our generals and macho leaders hate to be publicly humililated, what they do is engage in small acts of subversion against the USA's interests, in a way that cannot be easily acknowledged publicly. Every once in a while, they are caught with the hand in the cooky jar, and are publically spanked by RIce et al.
I suppose the Cuban situation is the same. I'd say, Israel resents her need to bow to Washington, so it takes every opporunity to annoy washington in Cuba. Also, be sure that since tons of Israelis are there (after 2001, and following Gitmo), they are also doing the CIA's job, as well. Its a very delicate dance.
I am less interested in the "big politics' (I also seem to be pretty bad in this area), but I am interested in the special relations between Israeli and american secret services in the practice of MC and in drug dealership. Its a cesspool.

chigger, since you were interested in the cuba consulate thing, i looked up the article (in hebrew), and realized the jouranlist is a name a remember (not for good). It is Avi Paz, located in Tucson, you can see the google results (skip the ones about the president of the Israeli Diamond exchange).
He has a murky (cancelled website) background as fitness instructor, as newage healer, as renting cars , and one entry as a journalist. he also has computer programming background.
He once emailed me, re blog, and immediately started to write sexual implications, I had to block access (that's quite typical to some Israelis, but it was more than the usual). he managed to tell me he was a night desk editor in Haaretz ages ago, and had a fight with the owner, left Israel and became a citizen of the USA. A shady character, foul language and a belligerant attitude with a lot of "mystical allusions" to his prowess as a man and as a warrior. Should be mid fifties or early 60's. Apparently he started freelancing for this news-website in Israel. Considering this, I wouldn't take his reliability for granted, OR actually, it could be spun news. He occasionally writes backtalk in haaretz website, calling everyone the Sheeple of Israel, and spouting racist comments on Arabs, women and what not. However, he is politically "dove" namely, among those who espouse two state solution.
