Parts not always under anasthetic ...

Postby Starman » Thu Jul 07, 2005 9:52 pm

Wow, Sw, that's really incredible -- great example of small details that help provide greater context.

It would seem like DID creates very powerful walls between different parts of oneself, even able to somehow compensate for added chemicals in the bloodstream or adjusting for it, perhaps unconsciously 'holding' a supply of blood that is then slowly shunted to those areas of the brain where the parts are located. In earlier post, a doctor mentioned the brain creating physical boundaries that isolate neuro-electro-chemical processes. Being able to drive while another part is damn-near OD'd is jusr amazing.

Ennyway, glad you're 'here'. ( :
Starman

I'm ouching just at the thought of being in that frog sit. I had a sister who did it up into her teens.

I'm fascinated by the implications MPD has just in terms of the flexibility the medical staff seem to have to have developed, in a way that must have made medical practice as they knew it almost obsolete.

Have those doctors and nurses who were able to work together as a unit with MPD patients been able to share their observations and techniques with others via the medical literature or the net?
