This question deserves a reply, and so far none is forthcoming. I will answer, since I find the date of your posting this rather auspicious.
Yes, it is reliable for the information this author has available to him. It is an honest attempt to give an introductory overview for a very involved and rather exotic subject. The lense through which the author is peering is knowledgeable, however it is myopic in terms of the extent to which he understands what is happening from a more in-depth "core" level; the lense through which he peers is itself contaminated beyond his perception.
Most all of the information he presents at is accurate from a broader bird's eye view of a specific area of the subject matter. The last paragraph containing an uplifting note of hope which includes a Bible quotation and reference to salvation through "Christ" is, in my view, where he is mistaken and falls prey to the very problem he is attempting to address and help resolve. However, his mistake in undestandable considering his apparent world-view and the circles within which he obviously moves.
Overall, it's a fairly good introductory piece that focusses on ONE ASPECT of a multi-layered and highly arcane social/political equation.
