I usually pass over stories like this, but in light of the current 'gladio' conversation, this one felt too weird, found this on 'the Trenchcoat' blog...

"Police snipers walked the rooftops and students were locked in their classrooms after a backpack with four loaded guns, including an assault rifle, was found Monday morning near the Delhi Educational Facility.

A man collecting cans along Merced Avenue found the bag near an almond orchard and across the street from the school.

The Merced County Sheriff's Department said a Russian-made SKS 7.62 mm assault rifle with a loaded 30-round banana clip, bayonet and folding stock; a .380-caliber Bersa semiautomatic pistol; a .40-caliber semiautomatic Walther pistol; and a .357-caliber Magnum revolver were in the bag along with the children's book "Dinosaurs Before Dark" by Mary Pope Osborne.

Sheriff Mark Pazin theorized that an attack with "overtones of Columbine" was thwarted by the discovery.

Violent graffiti also was found near the school's gymnasium Monday morning, he said.

Detective Vince Gallagher said the assault rifle was Russian-made and had been imported through Vermont. Rust along the rifle barrel indicated it had been outside anywhere from 24 to 48 hours, he said. That type of weapon is banned in California.

Of the four guns, one was registered to a Fresno address and another was reported stolen about a year ago in Garden Grove."

I'm inserting the link to the actual story here, although it leads to one of those annoying newspaper registration thingys first...
subscriber.sacbee.com/use...21849.html

What struck me weird about this one was a): Most school shooters grab daddy's guns, these weren't daddy's guns, they were either stolen or illegal military weapons. b) In these crimes, generally the kids tote them to school the day of the shooting. These seemed to be waiting for someone... out there 2 or three days with a children's book (possible trigger?) in the pack...
