everyone pursues their happiness - everyone does the things they think are best for their happiness - the only source of evil is being wrong - some being-wrong, we cant help - our brains are so big, the world is a lot bigger - the only source of evil we can help is refusing to be open to new insight - is thinking we dont need to keep our eyes and ears open for a better understanding, for a clue that lets us improve our seeing - the only source of evil we can help is thinking we can see - hitler thought he could see - the clues that were coming in that would have told him he was wrong couldnt get thru - he was sick of seeing - he pretended to know everything - he was wrong - he made so many enemies he had to kill himself - he pursued happiness up a blind alley -

'take in', says james joyce - be eternally hospitable to data, facts, info, views, insights, thoughts, perspectives - or be evil, be unhappy, be a source of human misery -

the victors in ww1 thought they could be happy by screwing germany - but they made a nation sick with fear of suffering, panicking themselves into turning to the extreme right for safety, for freedom, for dignity - in fact, the allies could not afford to make germany so poor - poverty is a luxury no one can afford - poverty is bombs and bullets - britain and america got it wrong - they learned their lesson, they got it right after ww2 - got europe on its feet, prevented another worldwide depression, prevented another hitler, prevented ww3 -

but we havent learned the lesson - we are still screwing the third world into the ground, still thinking poverty is something we can get away with, can afford - but poverty makes hard workers, and the third world is going to overtake the first world in wealth in 2050 - and then the third world will make the mistake of thinking it can afford the expense of enslaving the first world - but enemies are expensive - enemies are an endless expense - and the downtrodden always get tough, get hard, and conquer - history has no exceptions to this - to harden ourselves against these truths is to harden ourselves against our happiness - unreality never had a child called happiness - to pursue happiness, you have to pursue reality, truth - the first casualty of war is truth, so we cannot afford war, it is too expensive, it never delivers happiness, because war kills truth, the mother of happiness -

we are at war - pay from $1 to $1,000,000,000 for 100 hours' work means war - extreme extreme extreme war - US$70 trillion doesnt go to the earners of it, the creators of it, US$70 trillion a year is stolen from its earners

you cannot enjoy yourself until all enjoy themselves - why? - because people are bitter, vengeful - there are no doormats, no mice among us - if we are diligent in pursuit of our own interests, our happiness, we will be diligent in not making enemies, who are a pollution of our happiness -

how many enemies do we have, when 90% of people are paid between a 10th and 1000th of the average pay? - how many enemies do we have, when we allow pay up to a million times the average, which means they must fight everyone all the time to try to keep their unearned winnings? - are we testing ourselves to destruction? -

have we two eyes? -

there is enough world income to pay every family US$75,000 a year - and 90% are on between $7,500 and $75 a year - although they are earning/creating US$75,000 of goods and services a year - although working just as hard or harder than you - can you afford injustice? can you afford slavery as extreme as this?

'we were 1000 times safer when we were defenseless against the tiger than we are now, defenceless against the bomb' arnold toynbee, historian

who is happier? 100 children with 1000 sweets, allowing all to have 10 each? or 100 children with 1000 sweets, allowing everyone to grab from each other [no time in the all-against-all, ceaseless, escalating war for any to enjoy any sweets]? the latter is the thus-far history of the world -

if you woke up tomorrow and everyone else was happy and smiling and cheerful and laughy and lighthearted, you would be too - the happiness of others is your happiness - the misery of others is your misery

forget altruism - forget compassion - be selfish - pursue your own happiness solely - but remember that everyone else is a boxing machine - you hit it and it hits back - aim to get out of the social pool of wealth as much as you put in by your work, no more, no less - if you take more, you have robbed and you have a robber's fate - take less, and you make another a robber, and you get robbed, and you have to fight for your rights

an hour's work contributes about US$15 to the pool of wealth - housewives, mothers and students included - doubling every 12 years at 6% annual global inflation

hurry to get smart - it's late - the bombs are ticking - love yourself - justice and wisdom are good for you - test everything and hold to that which seems good to you - and check it every day
