Although I never met him personally, I lost someone I looked up to as a hero. It was painful for me to read about the circumstances of his death because it made me relive my mother’s battle with pancreatic cancer.<br><br>I probably took the news just as hard as his family and friends, because the wounds from this disease cut very deep into your soul. But those wounds are nothing compared to the stories I heard about the circumstances of Andy’s illness, treatment, and resulting death.<br><br>At about the same time I got word of his passing Friday afternoon, I heard whispers of sabotage, deceit, and of unadulterated hatred of this wonderful man. I found this very disturbing, and I needed to know everything that happened to him and why.<br><br>When I sat down Saturday night to begin writing this commentary, my mind was full of questions. Was the medical treatment Andy received adequate? Who delayed his surgery, and why? Who had the callousness to accuse him of faking a life-threatening illness? I had to search for the truth, regardless how much it would hurt to learn those answers.<br><br>So where do we begin our quest? Before we get to that, I feel it’s necessary for all of you to learn a little more about pancreatic cancer. I read a very interesting quote the other day in the Prophets (Job I think) which essentially said that the Creator takes the righteous early, and leaves the wicked to their evil, sometimes to relieve the righteous of the suffering to come (I am paraphrasing).<br><br>But it had some degree of comfort for me.<br><br>I read the Bible (Torah, Prophets, Apocrypha, Gnostic gospels, Coptic gospels, New Testament, etc) often (along with the Vedanta, Quran, Buddhist teachings, etc) not so much because I am a very strictly "religious " person, but because it gives me some perspective on what many men and women who many people believe speak the gospel truth and are very real prophets, predicted for the future and for the "end times".<br><br>I tend to believe that there is some merit to visions of the future and that some of what is written has real significance.<br><br>This has to do with my perspective of the time-space continuum (that it all exists in the infinite NOW) - ANYWAY: the concept that Andy died so that he would no longer havce to suffer (because he was a righteous man), during the hell to come wrought by his persecutors, gave me some small comfort.<br><br>He died to protect him from more suffering at the hands of the Bushzis.<br><br>But maybe I am just rationalizing.<br><br>I do hope he can work his mojo from the other side of the veil though.<br><br>Hi Andy!<br><br>Help??? <p></p><i></i>
