I don't like the fact that the show defused the thuggery of the Bush Administration by having their nice guy commit a similar crime for understandable reasons. Shit, I don't like the fact that the show exists, period. Take the time you watch this manipulative fiction and spend it paying attention to the real world, people.

Too much fiction today.
Like, 500 times too much fiction.
And of that fiction, not enough satire.
I thought the postmodern age of not letting kitsch get to you had arrived already.
Why do we still care about TV dramas with "stirring strings"?
Especially us, who know that the West Wing is probably gatekeeping propaganda.

I thought the show was great. Lawrence (sp?) O'Donnel is the producer of the show and he has been on Al Franken's show with the best insider information on Rove and Traitorgate that I have heard yet.
Also, another twist coming up is that Vinick (Alda) is a pro-choice Republican and Smitts is a "Pro-life" Democrat, as far as the abortion issue is concerned.
It wouldn't suprise me if they had a fusion ticket, like the Kerry/McCain ticket that was briefly floated...

Well, if he had so much insider info, then why dilute the impact of the indictment with the Toby plot line? How about a West Wing plot line involving Republicans stealing an election? That would impress me. Know by fruit.

Re: the characters' abortion positions...
I actually found myself agreeing with Smits when he set the reporter straight last show.

Of course it's propaganda...

...or it wouldn't be on a network.

However, that doesn't alter the fact that a debate between Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny would probably be superior to the debates between Bush and his Skull 'n' Bones buddy.

It also USED to be possible to be a Republican and not a thug.

Or to be a Democrat and not a truckling gutless sack of shite.
