Censuring Bush

Postby professorpan » Mon Mar 13, 2006 9:49 pm

For those who haven't completely given up hope in the Democratic party, or maybe even for those who have, I urge y'all to take 3 minutes and call your Senators and tell them to support Russ Feingold's resolution to censure Bush for illegal surveillance of American citizens.

Feingold is the exception to the rule of spineless, masochistic Dems -- and he's been smeared by Cheney and the Rethugs as supporting the enemy for daring to suggest Bush is not Emperor of the U.S. and shouldn't break any rule he deems beneath him.

I think it's worth a phone call.

Feingold Accuses

thinkprogress.org/2006/03...d-accuses/

BREAKING: Feingold Accuses Senate Democrats of “Cowering” To Bush

Sen. Feingold said the following to Fox News’ Trish Turner:

I’m amazed at Democrats, cowering with this president’s numbers so low. The administration just has to raise the specter of the war and the Democrats run and hide. … Too many Democrats are going to do the same thing they did in 2000 and 2004. In the face of this, they’ll say we’d better just focus on domestic issues. … [Democrats shouldn’t] cower to the argument, that whatever you do, if you question the administration, you’re helping the terrorists.

UPDATE: Sen. Wayne Allard (R-CO) accuses Feingold of “siding with terrorists.”

Unless it leads to impeachment hearings, it's really nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

And when they do go for impeachment, the Republicans will just say "but you censured him already!"

Anything is better than nothing though.
--
CyberChrist
http://www.hackerjournal.org
My brain is hung like a horse.
