He discusses the evidence he has for this charge and talks about the reaction that Sen. John Kerry had when presented with the evidence. Professor Miller also argues that the Republican party has been taken over by religious fundamentalists who see their opponents as evil and whose ultimate goal is to bring about Armageddon. The talk was hosted by the University of Massachusetts - Amherst.

Author Bio: Mark Crispin Miller is a professor in the Culture & Communications department at New York University. In Miller's presentation on BookTV, he says rather ambiguously that a big, well-connected name is about (within weeks) to come out and say that they are convinced that the 2004 election was stolen, and that we should be prepared to take advantage of this familiar person's lead.

Has anybody heard anything else relating to this revelation?

WTF was up with his closing comments about the JFK & RFK assassinations? He places 100% blame on the mafia, says Sirhan Sirhan had Mob connections...bizarre. He was trying to make a point about the fatalism that those assassinations fostered, but the whole "mafia did it" thing was B.O.G.U.S.

He seemed to strongly insinuate there was little difference between government spooks and the mafia.

It was strange how his JFK + RFK theories seemed to totally ignore other factors that made them (Kennedys) objectionable, besides their doggedness against the mafia. After all, one of Lyndon Johnson's first acts as president was to repeal Kennedy's executive order that began giving the power of printing money back to the government (i.e.). Perhaps one of the saddest and most important acts of our government since JFK's assassination.

I too was a little weirded out to see the JFK and RKF mob remarks. The way he said "Sirhan Sirhan had mob connections" was quite bizarre.

Is there anything to this in the RFK assassination literature?

Nonetheless, I did like his overall presentation. It's just those remarks were so out of place and strange. They had the feel of the latest McGowan piece -- A pretty good wake up call kind of piece, but with the totally bizarre and unnecessary insertion of a ficticious newspaper article about John Kerry and Anton LaVey.

www.davesweb.cnchost.com/nwsltr81.html

He's basing all his JFK remarks on the Thom Hartmann book.
I like Thom Hartmann, but I think he's full of crap on this. Its a limited hangout theory.

re remarks on ELECTION THEFT- aces.

Edited by: BannedfromDU at: 4/10/06 12:43 am

It's a shame because he was so certain about the JFK stuff the way he said it ("open and shut") that it may cause people to doubt him on the election stuff.

Ultimate Sacrifice: John and Robert Kennedy, the Plan for a Coup in Cuba, and the Murder of JFK

Editorial Reviews
From Publishers Weekly

Starred Review. There has been a long hiatus in significant books on the JFK assassination since Gerald Posner's Case Closed argued in 1993 that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. Posner took the CIA's lack of involvement for granted, and that, according to this mammoth and painstakingly researched account, was a big mistake. It is Waldron and Hartmann's (The Edison Gene) contention—bolstered by access to many previously unavailable files, and interviews with little-known as well as prominent figures—that the CIA knew a great deal about the assassination. But the agency couldn't admit what it knew because that could uncover the existence of a U.S. plan for a coup in Cuba, run by JFK's brother, Attorney General Robert Kennedy. The assassination, say the authors, was carried out by hired gunmen on the orders of three noted Mafia dons whose lives were being made miserable by RFK's ruthless pursuit—and these Mafia men knew about the planned invasion because they had worked with the CIA on previous efforts to topple Castro. Oswald, long a hidden CIA agent, was set up as the patsy, and it had always been Jack Ruby's job to eliminate him if he wasn't killed at the scene of Kennedy's shooting. How do the authors make their case? With a relentless accumulation of detail, a very thorough knowledge of every political and forensic detail and the broad perspective of historians rather than assassination theorists. They spend perhaps too much time with people they admire, like the late Enrique Ruiz Williams, who was a crucial early source for them. They also cannot resist chasing stories of only marginal relevance to their principal one, like what really happened to Che Guevara in Cuba. But no future historian of that tormented period in American history will be able to ignore their very convincing presentation, even if a lay reader may feel overwhelmed by the sheer weight of the evidence.
