Crooks list

Postby chiggerbit » Thu Apr 27, 2006 4:13 pm

I remember back during Reagan's administration how Reagan came to be called the teflon president because there were so many in his administration who were corrupt. I think Bushy has him beat. I imagine the Repuglycans are going to be furiously beating the bushes trying to find some Dem corruption. They'll have their work cut out for themselves if the Dem list is to come anywhere near the length of this one.

leenrage.blogspot.com/200...ndeed.html

GOP Culture of Corruption Indeed

The ever-expanding list of Republicans mired in scandal, just in the past year. I think Jefferson's prescription is the only effective solution to the morass that Washington DC has become. But a good stop-gap measure, step-in-the-right-direction IMO would be dissolving the Republican Party and prohibiting all party officers from occupying any political positions. (Not ruling-out impeachment and war-crime indictment by the leading gangster-murdering thugs).

Not that I think the Democratic party is defensible. If anything, Democrats have been a little less reckless and a little more incompetant in exploiting corruption, although subject to the same kinds of coercion, blackmail, threats and bribery by corporate, military-industry, and global banking/finance elite interests.

A big problem is that much of the public has insidiously been made complicit in accomodating fraud, war-crimes and neocolonial exploitation -- as the military 'defends' corporate foreign schemes, the American public benefits both directly and indirectly, via Wall Street profits and cheap goods (and govt. subsidized industries, esp. agriculture and 'defense' industry jobs). US policy has severely sabotaged economic opportunity and prosperity in Latin America, which provides a cheap-labour opportunity for US manufacturers while stimulating northward immigration.

It's a terrible treadmill causing untold needless suffering. If the public only knew how they'd been cheated and sold a fatally-flawed 'vision' there'd be thorough house-cleaning of America's failed, morally-bankrupt leadership. Of course,. that's what the PTB are scheming through bullshit terror to prevent.

The neocon thugs didn't arise from a vacuum -- they're a symptom of deep-seated illness with a long-history of undermining authentic self-rule democracy.
Starman

Good point, Starman. Actually, your point would be an excellent platform for the Dem party.

To paraphrase, "Ask not how corrupt are your politicians, but what you have done to facilitate that corruption?" That's only a little bit tongue-in-cheek.

I think Bernard Kerik should be on the list, too. Remember him-- the guy Bushie wanted to appoint to head Homeland Security? He dropped out after it was revealed that he had some questionable conflict-of-interests in his old job, he appeared to have been stalking an ex-girlfriend, and also that he had been involved in some questionable activites in Iraq:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Kerik

Edited by: chiggerbit at: 4/28/06 10:56 am
