Pure seculation here, (because it has never been proven that Monica Lewinsky was anything other than what she appered to be) but I'm looking for examples of when into a soon-to-be-very influential citizens life a person came along and distracted them, kept the lid on, kept the riff-raff out, etc....tempted them with their own weakness or plain old ratted them out, finked on them, turned them over, spied on them.

And again, I don't think that Bill Clinton would have done anything radical, (but what if some were frightened of his popularity??)

I think that the powers that be will go to great lengths to keep a movement like what almost happened in the 60's,(discussed on this board before) from ever happening. Don't want people to get along or for god's sake to drop-out.

had to be made an example lest any future president be so presumptious as to suggest universal health care. This was Gore Vidal's take, anyhow.
