Lieberman opponent forces primary show-down

Postby chiggerbit » Sat May 20, 2006 5:28 pm

Heehee, I love it! Lieberman did win the nomination in Connecticut , but his anti-war opponent, Ned Lamont, won twice as many delegates as he needed to force a primary show-down in August.

www.courant.com/news/poli...lines-home

".....Before the convention, Lieberman said he believes Lamont will hurt other party hopefuls if he continues his battle for the Senate seat.

'I think it's going to be harmful of our party and the chances of our congressional candidates, our Democratic challengers and our gubernatorial candidates," he said. "But it's his decision.'"....

Well, jerk, the way I see it is that, just because the Repugs are on the ropes, doesn't mean that incumbent Democrats don't still need to answer to their public. We may just throw ALL the bums out if they don't start answering to the voters instead of corporate interests.

Edited by: chiggerbit at: 5/20/06 5:54 pm

I can't stand that punk Lieberman.

Quote:
'I think it's going to be harmful of our party and the chances of our congressional candidates, our Democratic challengers and our gubernatorial candidates," he said. "But it's his decision.'"....

What he's saying there is the Dem party has to give him all the money since he now has a challenger. What arrogance. ugh.

The fly in the ointment? Holy Joe is not ruling out an independent candidacy should Lamont win the primary, thereby ensuring a split in dem votes and a repub win. ugh.

Yeah, and he could always join the party he has been sucking up to these past six years or so, the Repuglycan one.

Interesting observation here. My interpretation? Lieberman's ass is grass, (and for a change) the grassroots is the lawnmower. Lieberman's victory was due to the usual Dem machine, but the grassroots may bring him down.

rawstory.com/showoutartic...ve_it.html

May 20, 2006

33%

Yeah, that's what Lieberman's mgr said (expectation-raised) Lamont would get.

But as Colin McEnroe says: "I've had some stranger nights covering politics, but not many.
