Well, the October Surprise possibility did occur to me, too. Consider that a previous time it was CBS and Dan Rather that got bamboozled by faked documents. Now, it could be ABC's turn. In that other case CBS had no backup, or chose not to go with it. End of Dan Rather. So, maybe Karl had heard some old rumors about Foley (afterall Karl has been rumored to hang in places known to be gay hangouts). So, he thinks this is a good one to try again. Figures he has the means to turn the scandal on it's head and aim it back at the scandal-mongering Dems.
