As a former fan of HST, I have to say that his quote about autumn childsnatching does not look good. I sort of assumed that his suicide (which I can accept as such) was a result of Gannon and also of the Franklin photographer's arrest...i.e. maybe the gig was up. However, no more information has leaked out about Franklin, etc, so maybe he really was just depressed. <p></p><i></i>

that's very interesting about suicides and peculiar deaths of people who represent "left wing" values. In Israel, this last year several artists (writers) checked out, most notably and recently the famous poet Dalya Rabikovitch. I had the sense that she was gradually annihilated because she dared challenge ISrael's military on several occasions. Although she suffered from depression, there were weird details in her last ineterview (a few months before she committed a suicide at the age of 65). For instance, she said that a few years ago she was introduced to an Iranian writer (a dissident, living in England I believe) who visited ISrael. She had a brief affair with him, and accompanied him abroad for a 2 week trip, and then he dumped her. She said there was no sex...And then she said she had a very humiliating affair with a married high military officer, who tried to match her with a friend of his, so he can meet with her, and hide their relations, a sort of concubine. She hated military officers, and said it was a "slip" for her. Maybe she was manipulated ? It seemed to me like she was being played on by military operatives who wanted to bring her down. Recently, the director of the ministrry of welfare announced a "war on suicide" saying there were now huge numbers of suicides in Israel (indeed there are more). He said they are influenced by celebrities like that poet...?? (no matter it started way before she did it). He is a religious Orthodox jew, and he said committing suicide is against the religious law. <br>I had the sense that there is a sort of hidden agenda to target intellectuals, artists and so forth who see through the murderous plots here, they are all over the internet with suggestions that "left wing" people are mentally ill and depressed etc. It seems like almost a crusade to exterminate people who think in a certain way, like "genetic harvesting"..or something, to leave only smiling,consumerist robot...<br>I don't think its very difficult to drive a person to commit suicide, and so even if it is not "murder" it is murder... <p></p><i></i>

At that point it somehow persuades the insect to jump into water, allowing the adult worm to swim away.<br><br>David Biron and his colleagues at the Institute for Development Research in Montpellier, France, have found the worms produce proteins that mimic some of the grasshoppers' own (Proceedings of the Royal Society B, DOI: 10.1098/rspb.2005.3213).
