Mason indicted over murder of 'God's banker' By John Phillips in Rome Published: 20 July 2005 Magistrates investigating the death of the Italian banker Roberto Calvi under Blackfriars Bridge in London in 1982 are focusing on Licio Gelli, the former "grand master" of the illegal P2 Masonic lodge that plotted against Italian democracy in the 1970s. Mr Gelli denies he was involved but has acknowledged that the financier, known as "God's banker" because of his links with the Vatican, was murdered. He said the killing was commissioned in Poland. The four other suspects were indicted on murder charges in April and are to stand trial in October. Investigators believe that Calvi was murdered as "punishment" for having used his position as head of the Banco Ambrosiano, then Italy's largest private bank, to seize large sums of money belonging to the Sicilian Mafia and to Mr Gelli. The indictment also says that the five ordered Calvi's murder to prevent the banker "from using blackmail power against his political and institutional sponsors from the world of Masonry, belonging to the P2 lodge, or to the Institute for Religious Works [the Vatican Bank] with whom he had managed investments and financing with conspicuous sums of money, some of it coming from Cosa Nostra and public agencies". Nearly 1,000 prominent public figures including businessmen such as the current Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, senior army and police officers, politicians and civil servants belonged to Mr Gelli's Propaganda Due (P2) clandestine Masonic lodge, dissolved in 1981 for plotting to establish an authoritarian regime. The Polish connection ALSO relates to the Polish Catholic order the Marian Fathers, based in Henley on thames, Oxfordshire in the UK. They stole a vast investment portfolio in the 1970s, using Midland Bank's Reading branch manager John Bond (NOW Sir John Bond, CEO of HSBC which bought Midland some year ago). The portfolio consisted of equities, residential and commercial property and other investments. It was laundered via Banco Ambrosiano to the Vatican Bank, where Cardinal Marcinkus raised loans and mortgages on it to finance a bad spate of invetment losses in the Papal coffers relating directly to paying off KGB officials in Poland during the run up to the Solidarnosc movement. When Ambrosiano was busted, the investment portfolio was recovered - resulting in massive losses for the Vatican Bank and Ambrosiano itself. The involvement of the GELLI family is even more extensive that the Independent's story suggests. Calvi was being pursued by the Vatican Bank's creditors including the Marian Fathers, who were made bankrupt as a result of massive UK court fines imposed after a spate of successful child sex abuse lawsuits in the UK brought about by parents of Polish boys who had attended the boarding school they had run in henley - called Divine Mercy College. Another lawsuit relating to the gang rape of mentally incapacitated and handicapped children living in the orphanages that the Marians ran in the UK also added to their legal bills and pushed them deeper into the abyss of bankruptcy. The core figure in this scandal was EMILIA GELLI - former mistress of one FRANK GELLI - a Cuban-born Russian who murdered up and coming Republican politician George Herbert Bush, whom he resembled to an extraordinary degree. Frank Gelli's father was a Russian who was elected in 1939 as 'Pope Pius XII' - under the name of Giovanni Pacelli. Emilia Gelli had married Frank's idiot Cuban-born son Henry and worked for the Marian Fathers for some 35 years. That child became "Suzy Lamplugh" - who as a 24 year old estate agent "vanished" on 28 July 1986 in Fulham, West London - officially a missing person case but treated as murder now for some years. The City of London cops have never made any arrest over her murder. But the witnesses who did come forward and whose evidence was corroborated independently all stated that it was a top-flight young up and coming UK politician - now a world famous player on the UK and world stage. No names no packdrill. But his persona as billed to an adoring electorate is a total sham. His real name is Peter Freeman, he is Maria Gelli's half brother and he has been the most senior KGB officer in the UK after Margaret Thatcher for over 30 years.

Even when he says "Calvi's death was made to look like suicide." His murder was fraught with symbology. It was meant to send a message. And I think the P2 Grandmaster is engaging in misdirection when he says it was commissioned in Poland.

my memory is a sieve but i have read a couple of books loooong ago that detailed the use of religious and quasi religious organisations as the only means of defeating the "red scare" in Europe. To the cia these were seen as the only "safe tools" as anything religious was perceived to be automatically anti-communist. You ask yourself why no FOIA documents appear about Europe,it is stil a huge OP is why. Now i am certainly not saying there is no occult significance,or dismissing its relevance. I just want to point out that if one ignores the parallel thread, of how these same organisations are powerful now in large part because they are tools, one would miss a large part of their significance to current events.

You are not the only one. But his involvement with the Polish order of the Marian Fathers is a matter of UK criminal record. As is their extensive criminal history and involvement in every P2 Lodge scam ever invented and executed. In the 1960s they fronted KGB-linked organised crime in the UK and were financed exclusively by extortion, racketeering and laundering of heroin. After JFK was assasinated in November 1963 they ran into a lot of trouble with both MI5 and the CIA re their finanial payments to WW2 criminals connected to the Franco dictatorship. But it wasn't until they got busted for the sex abuse lawsuits that their operations were successfully pared back in the UK, if not actually shut down. Their big time came when Jackie Kennedy's sister Caroline Lee Bouvier Canfield married Prince Stanislaw Radziwill who was then duped into becoming the frontman of P2 Lodge financial scams in Europe. He fronted quasi-respectable/legit fundraising events to fill up their coffers after the spate of UK sex abuse lawsuits cleaned them out. His personal financial donations to them during his lifetime and later in his will topped £250,000, including the costs involved in building the St Ann's Church in their grounds at Fawley Court in Henley on Thames, Oxon. When Banco Ambrosiano collapsed, UK courts tried to freeze the Marian Fathers' accounts in the UK and recoup some of the £250,000 Radziwill had given them in donations, alleging that it was part of stolen funds related to the investment portfolio that they raised loans on that was eventually laundered into the Vatican Bank. Much speculation at that time focused on Radziwill's business links to Calvi. But his main business partner for so-called legit commercial ops in UK and Europe had always been Licio Gelli. UK spooks I have known during my years as a journo always maintained that Calvi himself was a member of the Gelli family, that he was yet another KGB lookalike plant inserted after the real Roberto Calvi was executed in a turf war in 1962 over lost commissions connected to payments to Nazi war criminals hiding out in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. They also alleged that a very famous UK-based '80s rockstar, currently self-reinventing as a global do-gooder and exponent of third world poverty/deprivation, is his natural son. Not SO hard if you accept UK spooks' assertion that Lech Walesa is JP2's son. And that JP2's former private secretary Stanislaw Dziwisz was protected by his lord and master in the Vatican for many years to help him evade UK cops investigating further, late evidence (post-1982) re the child sex abuse rings run by the Polish rder of the Marian Fathers, who were bankrupted in UK lawsuits as a result of prosecutions in civil and criminal courts. This late evidence relates to testimony of former boy pupils at Divine Mercy College - run by the Marian Fathers at their UK HQ at Fawley Court, Henley on Thames, Oxon - who cmae forward with their sex abuse allegations some 20 years after leaving the school following lengthy periods of psychiatric help and eventual legal advice. The author Piers Compton who wrote The Broken Cross - an excellent source of reference re the P2 Lodge - testified about ten days before his own mysterious death that Dziwisz had been involved in the sex rings and had been aided and abetted in fleeing the UK by bent former MI5 spooks and Home Office civil Servants who supplied him with false papers to flee the UK. Compton lived a few miles away from Henley on Thames, in Marlow. About two months before his death he gave a lecture in the UK's Institute of Strategic Affairs on the Gelli crme family, its connections to the Bushes and unresolved UK criminal investigations into child sex rings run by the Hellfire Club (located a few miles away from Henley in West Wycombe), pedophiles in the Royal British regiments, the Children of God cult based in Mahpstead, North London and their links to assorted WW2 fascists living in exile in Latin America. Much speculation ensued abut the meaning, which was eventually assigned to an anagram of 'Patricide' when DNA testing revealed that the public hairs were a 100% match for a father and son - but not directly related to Calvi.

As a lawyer, then as a journalist and newspaper owner in the 1970s and 80s I covered the death of Calvi and the collapse of Ambrosiano for a number of years. Piers Compton's book is a pretty good account of the workings of the P2 Lodge but it lacks all the meat and bones that MI5 files contain about the extensive history of Russian infilitration of the Vatican. David Yallop's 'In God's Name' is also worth reading as a prelude to the installation of JP2 following the 30 day reign of JP1. The most comprehensive details about Calvi, the Gellis and the P2 Lodge's dealings with the UK's House of Windsor are still classified under the UK's Official Secrets Act. However, major parts of these classified papers were read out in court (in camera session at the Royal Courts of Justice in London, 1992) when Margaret Thatcher was sued for criminal harassment, libel and conspiracy to rape by UK-based members of the Truman family. Needless to say, she lost.

From ES Magazine, written by Charlotte Eagar: SNIP: CALVI was a member of the P2, a Masonic lodge whose members included general,s most of the Italian political elite, the head of the secret service, and the editor of Corriere della Serra. They are said to have mutually bribed each other into ever-giddying heights of influence-weilding. The P2 membership list turned up in 1981 when Italian police working on the assasination of GIORGIO AMBROSIOLI - a magistrate who had been investigating Calvi's mentor, a Sicilian bankner called MICHELE SINDONA - raided the house of the Grand Master of P2, LICIO GELLI. Gelli, a political puppetmaster and former Nazi turned double agent, fled to Uruguay. Sindona, convicted of Ambrosioli's murder, was killed with a poisoned espresso in jail. ROBERTO ROSONE, the deputy chairman of Banco Ambrosiano, was mown down with a machine gun in April 1982 but survived because his would-be assassin was killed by a bank guard. The previous investigating magsitrate into the Ambrosiano fraud, ELILIO ALESSANDRINI was shot by five men at a traffic light in 1979. Its chief activist was one Wladzimierz Dragas who mobilised the ranks of the Polish Catholic order The Marian Fathers, headquartered in Henley, Oxfordshire, into initiating that campaign, fundraising and enlisting the help of prominent US and UK Catholic families. .......Dragas was introduced to P2 Lodge members Michele Sindona, Licio Gelli and Roberto Calvi by Prince Stanislaw Radziwill - who had recently married the sister of President John F Kennedy's widow Jackie, called Caroline Lee Bouvier, a divorcee formerly married to Michael Canfield. Radziwill was a Papal Knight and one of the most senior officers of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St George, a Vatican activists group that acted as the political offshoot of the Opus Dei cult. It was Radziwill who ensured that Licio Gelli progressed rapidly in the heirarchy of the P2 masonic lodge through his contacts in Italian finance, Eastern Bloc politics and ecclesiastical channels linked to the Vatican but financed exlusively in the United States of America. .......The subsequent meteoric rise to high office of Carol Wojtyla can been attributed to Radziwill's efforts in the early 1970s in systematically erasing US and UK classified documents relating to Wojtyla's personal involvement in the P2 Lodge. ....Papers relating to the creation of the Solidarnosc Movement in Poland under the leadership of Lech Walesa are directly related to financial conduits established in the US and Italy that were under the control of Italian banker Michele Sindona. This would not have been possible without the election of Ronald reagan to the Presidency of the United States of America. .......The Vatican's continued lobbying of the UN Security Council for a permanent seat on its five-member committee is one of their foremost aims of the Wojtyla Administration."
