Pat Robertson calls for assassination of Hugo Chavez

Postby timboucher » Tue Aug 23, 2005 2:29 pm

This guy... what a joker! That's right, Christians advocating murder. Cute stuff.

www.religionnewsblog.com/12061

Quote:
VIRGINIA BEACH (AP) — Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson suggested on-air that American operatives assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to stop his country from becoming "a launching pad for communist infiltration and Muslim extremism."

"We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability," Robertson said Monday on the Christian Broadcast Network's The 700 Club.

"We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator," he continued. "It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with."

Chavez has emerged as one of the most outspoken critics of President Bush, accusing the United States of conspiring to topple his government and possibly backing plots to assassinate him. U.S. officials have called the accusations ridiculous.

"You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it," Robertson said. "It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... and I don't think any oil shipments will stop."

Robertson, 75, founder of the Christian Coalition of America and a former presidential candidate, accused the United States of failing to act when Chavez was briefly overthrown in 2002.

Electronic pages and a message to a Robertson spokeswoman were not immediately returned Monday evening.

Venezuela is the fifth largest oil exporter and a major supplier of oil to the United States. The CIA estimates that U.S. markets absorb almost 59% of Venezuela's total exports.

Venezuela's government has demanded in the past that the United States crack down on Cuban and Venezuelan "terrorists" in Florida who they say are conspiring against Chavez.

Robertson has made controversial statements in the past. He has also said that feminism encourages women to "kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians."

patsy

Mr. Robinson takes his orders from his Lodge. He is merely doing his job. Please forgive me for saying this, but these days it appears anyone can say he or she is a Christian, even a president. In order for the occult elite to manage their business properly, they must have their minions in strategic positions, to decieve as many well-intentioned folks as possible, and create fear and division, mistrust and finally a dependency upon "them" to lead unsuspecting human beings into submission. What a task to try and sort through all the lies and half-lies and attempt to maintain any purity of heart. Or manage to stay physically or mentally healthy in spite of all the toxins in our water, food, air, etc. What a world! Some TV guy calling for yet another assination, and people sending him their money.

Remember Paul Harvey's outrageous suggestion very recently?
Quote:

www.prisonplanet.com/arti...harvey.htm

"After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Winston Churchill said that the American people…he said, the American people, he said, and this is a direct quote, “We didn’t come this far because we are made of sugar candy.”

That was his response to the attack on Pearl Harbor. That we didn’t come this far because we are made of sugar candy.

And that reminder was taken seriously. And we proceeded to develop and deliver the bomb, even though roughly 150,000 men, women and children perished in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. With a single blow, World War II was over.

Following New York, Sept. 11, Winston Churchill was not here to remind us that we didn’t come this far because we’re made of sugar candy.

So, following the New York disaster, we mustered our humanity.

We gave old pals a pass, even though men and money from Saudi Arabia were largely responsible for the devastation of New York and Pennsylvania and our Pentagon.

We called Saudi Arabians our partners against terrorism and we sent men with rifles into Afghanistan and Iraq, and we kept our best weapons in our silos.

Even now we’re standing there dying, daring to do nothing decisive, because we’ve declared ourselves to be better than our terrorist enemies -- more moral, more civilized.

Our image is at stake, we insist.

But we didn’t come this far because we’re made of sugar candy.

Once upon a time, we elbowed our way onto and into this continent by giving small pox infected blankets to native Americans.

Yes, that was biological warfare!

And we used every other weapon we could get our hands on to grab this land from whomever. And we grew prosperous.

And, yes, we greased the skids with the sweat of slaves.

And so it goes with most nation states, which, feeling guilty about their savage pasts, eventually civilize themselves out of business and wind up invaded, and ultimately dominated by the lean, hungry and up and coming who are not made of sugar candy."

Click here for an audio clip of the dialogue.

People like Harvey and Robertson are just the scouts sent out ahead, testing to see how their suggestions are accepted. If they are met with outrage, then it is no skin off the administration's nose. Bush then self-righteously distances himself from the now-disgraced scout. Look at what he was able to do to the groupie, Colin Powell.

The common denominator that I see is the anti-communism cabal. When you see a group dynamic which identifies itself as "against" something---anti this, anti-that--- look behind it, find the shadow to define the substance of what it is for.

Edited by: chiggerbit at: 8/23/05 2:04 pm

Toxic prayer

Postby Avalon » Tue Aug 23, 2005 4:05 pm

Someone on the blog mentioned that Robertson could be said to be practicing black magic.

Useful term I've heard used for Christians who work like that is "toxic prayer."
