I think it's a good idea to read this book because it really clears explains a lot. <p></p><i></i>

Is this the book online ? titles of chapters seem interesting, but perhaps somewhat apocalyptic as well. Ethical gangrene, in and of itself, rarely causes the collapse of evil regimes, unfortunately. One has to be religious to believe otherwise. Usually, it is complacency, exaggerations and inner conflicts which bring those regimes down. Its a combination of a normal process of power-decay and some luck as well. Sometimes I feel that holding on to the expectation of political justice is taking a lot of energy from me. I have seen such evil regime in my country, some structures seem to be lasting forever although one would presume that even a retarded and deaf God/force of nature would already annihilate them....<br>Tyrannies always fall, that is the consolation, its a rule of nature. But it may challenge one's faith and try patience, and then when you think its over, you get a new problem of the same but slightly different form elsewhere. <br>I dont' see Katrina as the end of the USA, even of the neo-cons...but it may just kick Bush out, which is also nice. The democrats are not much better, but even the minor bias towards human rights and better distribution of wealth, is going to be comforting for a while.<br>Beside the point - my memories now from meetings and talks with Afro Americans when I lived there. It is very frustrating to see people who actually condone the "system" that leads to their discimination and abuse. Only the ones who happened to reside outside the USA for some time, have changed their perspective. But they are few and usually middle class without the drive to lead revolutions. I lived in LA during the "riots" of Rodney King...(anyone remembers that ?). For a non American this was my "initiation" into the real America. It was a battlefield and the enemy was the blacks...however, soon after - they went back to life without getting any meaningful achievements. The pictures from Luisiana reminded me of South LA...its third world. But the people there just gave up on their basic human rights and dignities. they think the world is the USA, and there is nothing better or different possible. Whereas they could lead the global struggle for justice, they cop out and harness themselves to US empire-interests. (even Jesse Jackson, to some extent is missing his opportunities worldwide in favor of local patriotism). <br><br><br> <p></p><i></i>

What I found so interesting about this book is the light it casts on the current regime and the lengths they will go too and the total disregard they show for anything and anybody. Reality is truly much scarier than fantasy and you don't even need a tin foil hat!<br>P.S. I fear for the republic, it could be finished. <p></p><i></i>
