Woman arrested over 'God's banker' case<br>Fri Jan 13, 2006 6:32 PM GMT <br> <br> <br>LONDON (Reuters) - Police arrested a woman in London on Friday in connection with the 1982 murder of Italian financier Roberto Calvi, who was known as "God's banker" for his close ties to the Vatican.<br><br>The woman, who police did not name, was arrested for perjury and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice in connection with Calvi's murder, a City of London police spokeswoman said.<br><br><!--EZCODE AUTOLINK START--><a href="http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/newsArticle.aspx?type=topNews&storyID=2006-01-13T183211Z_01_WRI366565_RTRUKOC_0_UK-CRIME-BRITAIN-CALVI.xml&archived=False">today.reuters.co.uk/news/...ived=False</a><!--EZCODE AUTOLINK END--><br><br>LAST night's BBC Radio programme discussion said this story relates to evidence given at the original London Coroner's inquest of Calvi's death, way back in 1982.<br><br>And that, if this woman is charged, then other witnesses' testimony heard by the London Coroner - which specificallly named so far non-arrested murder suspects seen with Calvi the night of his murder - will be vindicated.<br><br> <p></p><i></i>
