Hmmm:

hmmmm....is that the entire article? My German is not up to par, but it seems a bit skimpy on info. Do you have more info on this gladio link to VDS? I am just interested because I met van der Stoel in Skopje, FYROM. He was there in 2001-2002 in the capacity of honorary human rights envoy for OSCE (which is not mentioned in the NNDB bio) promoting a private multi-ethnic University project (The Southeastern European University) - which, by the way, fueled ethnic and class tensions further.

ah, sorry - i am embarrassed. dutch reads closer to english than german does. for a moment there I thought myself suddenly more proficient in understanding "german" than usual. Obviously not. But I might have a chance with dutch!

I suppose now that dutch media has been reporting this, it may have a chance of spreading to other euro-networks. we'll see - I'll be interested in keeping an eye on this.

My impression of VDS, despite being rather decrepit, was that he is also creepy. A gladio connection might help explain more about his policy direction with regard to education in southeastern europe. It's always something financial, sure, but also always something more sinister - and this is a pattern I've been learning more about re: many of big players operating in the balkans, which was a prelude to Iraq II.
