why no WMD?

In light of the often quoted neocon quip "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality," I have been puzzled for some time now, and especially now that Bush is taking such a hit, why no WMD were in fact "found" in Iraq. I mean, obviously, why not simply plant some warhead or gas cannisters or something, and say "hey guys, over here: look what I found"? Documents have been forged. People have lied. With so much riding on this, you would have thought some "reality creation" was in order in this contingency. What is to be gained by not finding WMD?

Heyia SaintSimon; As Dreamsend is likely referring to, there were credible reports by various non-mainstream news reporters and local witnesses that the Pentagon/Neocon war-profiteering CriminalCabal DID try to plant some WMD -- but as with many ultra-covert black-ops, the degree of secrecy and stealth required by a special-ops team ended-up running afoul of 'regular' US military forces, which mistook the Black Ops agents for 'unfriendlies' and led to their near-annihilation by artillery and/or airstrikes. Of course, this incident required the utmost hush-hush cover-up, but still word got out and around -- I think this likely poisoned further or additional plans to plant evidence of WMP, since so much credibility had already been squandered. I'm sure there are hundreds of references to this incident which I THINK happened in early or mid 2004, on numerous blogs and alternative media and critical websites.
