Lewis was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum of 40 years before becoming eligible for parole. Lewis, a Marine who fought in Iraq, was charged with capital murder and had faced the death penalty.<br>~snip~<br> Lewis told police after his arrest that he slammed his daughter against a wall while he was trying to toilet train her at his home, according to police records.<br>~snip~<br><!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>Lewis also was indicted on a charge of aggravated sexual assault.</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END--><br><br>Police records state that Lewis admitted to sexually abusing his daughter. That charge is still pending.<br><br>In February, Lewis was an armored vehicle gunner for the U.S. Marines. He was injured by an improvised explosive device while en route to <!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>Fallujah</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END-->.<br><br>He spent time recuperating at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., before returning to Longview.<br><br>Lewis, who was separated from the girl's mother, had had custody of Krisiauna for five days when the murder occurred. <hr></blockquote><!--EZCODE QUOTE END--><br><br>2 years old...and how did he get custody..and what happened to him in iraq.. <p></p><i></i>
