Google

I like that list, chiggerbit.

If doing the google, I'd suggest painting what looks like a giant screen capture of a Google page, with

"Vigilant Guardian" 911

on the search line. Leave off the truth notion, so that those who already think the official coincidence theory is truth will be caught off-guard.

I'm still thinking about how to do this and am amazed at all the creative ideas you have put up here. Thank you.

I called my sister last night and told her what I am planning to do.

She replied in a hushed and worried tone, "You'd better be careful doing stuff like that."

What the hell?

That told me so much more than what she actually said.

People are afraid of this government.

Signs have started appearing on the freeways in the Bay Area in the last week or so. They aren't that big but they're big enough to see and read from your car. They're in fields and on bridges/over passes. They say things like:

The War is a Lie
No Blood for Oil

etc.

Kind of pointless really, but they set me to thinking. What if we coordinated a series of plain old black and white signs that actually said something empowering:

Google Operation Northwoods

Google Vigilant Guardian

With the odd:

You are being lied to

thrown in for good measure. We could probably hit every major urban area in the same week, right?

Imagine the impact you could have. Okay, it may not change the world but you could have serious impact on a lot of people very quickly. And you have the huge benefit of pointing them to things that they'd discover for themselves. We wouldn't be talking at anybody - which is a huge advantage.

This is just a quick thought and I know it would need some serious planning and working out... but simple things... simple things can make a big difference.

I know Google is a good search engine

And I know the word 'google' has become shorthand for "go look it up"

But I wonder if "research operation northwoods" might be better. Does Google need the advertising? What about people who "Yahoo!" ?

And I guess I just have philosophical issue about being "empowered" by googling. It's a great tool, I just don't like the idea of focusing on google itself, or the internet alone, as empowerment requires a bit more than casual internet browsing.

That said, HMK, I do like your line of thought.

I think some good freeway signs might just copy some of the images from the movie "They Live," as seen with the Sunglasses on.

A giant "OBEY" or "DON'T QUESTION AUTHORITY" might cause some people to think a little more deeply.

There are some images/links on another thread from not too long ago.

Pugz, as to your original proposition to protest 9-11, Patriot Act, and the Iraq War in a single sign, perhaps you could find some illuminating quotes from the Prez G.W. Bush himself, or some of his upper level administration officials.

I'm thinking of using two contrasting quotes which illustrate the logical inconsistencies of Neocon propaganda.

For example, a quote about the compassion and reasonableness of the United States contrasted with one of his "we'll hunt them down like the dogs they are" sayings.

Or one from just after 9-11, of which there are many, where Bush laments the insidious and unprovoked attack by the Al Quaida hijackers, followed by a quote promoting the unprovoked invasion of Iraq.

Or "War is the last option in Iraq" contrasted with one of his "I would have attacked Iraq even if I knew there was no WMD"

Maybe not the best examples, but I hope you get my drift.
