"Linklater agreed that Bush had dwarfed the crimes of Nixon commenting, "Nixon's a liberal compared to Bush - at least he cared about air quality, drinking water, things like that.." been saying the same about Trick Dicky myself for yrs. .I would add Nixon is a saint compared to the Air Reservist from TX / AL with his questionable discharge and his blood lust for state sponsored murders in TX and as the pResident

I've been thinking about this since 9/11. At least Nixon had the decency and respect for the office to resign. Voluntary Resignation (although I think there was some serious arm twisting going on<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/wink.gif ALT=";)"> )....is a clear indication that NIXON was NOT a neoCon. One of the primary signs that a politician is a neoCon is that, even though he disgraces himself and/or the office, he will refuse to resign. He or she won't even consider it...for the basic fact that they do NOT owe their office or their allegiance to the people, they owe it only to their fellow cabalistas. In other words, if it werent for the rigged elections and the financial chicanery, few if any neoCons would get elected...and certainly not get enough votes to become president. Once in office...they will bring down the entire system rather than resign. Enjoyed it a lot. I haven't read the story, but I had the sense that it must be the most faithful film adaptation of Dick's work. Great performances. Robert Downey Jr and Rory Cochrane are particularly hilarious. Also... a bit of spoiler space......... it had a nicely done parapolitical wrinkle, with the addiction treatment organization "New Path" also the source of the addictive "Substance D."

Yeah, that wrinkle is in the book too. I read it, haven't seen the movie, it gets here this weekend. From the trailers I've seen it adheres to the book pretty well. I can't wait to see the opening scene, that has to be just nuts. Substance D, the Big D, Death, is there a better name for a drug like that? And Keano Reeves playing a burnout, good pick! The man couldn't act if his life depended on it. I'm waiting for someone to do "Divine Invasion", that would be awesome.

Yeah, Malkin, Reynolds, Hewitt, LGF and the rest of the agitprop brigade will literally have their sanity threatened by 9-11 stuff.
