Kudos to Mack White for putting this one together! -seems like he'd definately be a guy to consult if anyone was doing a 9/11 report "Omissions" adaptation.

Edited by: thurnandtaxis at: 7/17/06 1:32 pm

Edward Scissored-Head

Like seeing how somebody scissored your head out of all the family pictures.

Or I'm picturing someone doing "scrapbooking" gone wild, with little pieces of flesh, asbestos, and hijacker identification attached to the pages.

Gouda: the spectral orbs are supposed to be lens flares, from the looks of it (they were really trendy in the mid 90's for Photoshoppers and 3D animators - myself included) .

Seamus: I'd LOVE to collaborate on a mashup/rebuttal. It would give me a chance to get back to my comic book roots and do some pen and ink artwork, which I only do from time to time (see my comment to Gouda for the "why").

Yeah, yeah - your simple "lens flares" are someone else's trans-dimensional spectral orbs. Tomato, Tomato.

Just kidding. Thanks Mr. Strangis.

You guys could hook up with P. Thompson/Cooperative Research on that as well...

(Also, could you imagine a graphic realization of Hopsicker's Welcome to Terrorland, or P.Dale Scott's Force X?)

Then, for Sept 5th, show them on the SunCruz gambling boat.

There's so many directions it could go, depending on how they tell the Report's "story".

well, I'm an artist, I think there are a few others around, if someone storyboarded it I can do the line art. I'm not a writer at all though.

Quote:
a comic book is a major undertaking

Hi Alan

I know, and it's far too much for me to take on. I was suggesting we start to think about how to couteract this before it appears. If we could publish a comic that would be amazing! We probably won't but we can at least throw up a few alternative ideas. Who knows? The official version might even look old-hat before it's released.

I'm no artist nor a great writer, all I can do is try to encourage those who are. As for format all you need is HTML, PDF (and for maximum exposure powerpoint, sorry don't know .xxx never used honest)

I was hoping for a few suggestions about details to be covered and how, caricatures and subplots (Hell I can't piece it all together myself)

One way to tell the tale is as a detective novel. A detective on an individual case who meets another PI who knows a bit more and knows someone who knows someone else..

Another would be a muslim kid wondering why his brother did this then slowly finding out why.. yet still wondering if he did.

So have we got it in us to do this?

Even if it's just for a laugh?

I'd be totally up for it too. Having done a couple of comic books a LONG time ago, I know how labour intensive it is.

I think (hope) I have more discipline than when I was a 20 year old who had his own house and room mates that rival Barris and Luckman from A Scanner Darkly.

At the same time, besides full time work, I'm busy doing post production on an indie feature (a transdimensional thriller - not quite PKDick but still interesting I hope).

More discipline + less time = same net result.

I'd be good for a page a week myself. I'm pretty sure there's gonna be at least one "oh that's horseshit" moment per page of the 9/11 Report Adaptation. That's why I thought of the mashup/rebuttal idea, but it would certainly be interesting to wrap some fictional characters into a 9/11 narrative, a la James Ellroy.

Maybe if we had a thread to bang out ideas, or use this one for that purpose?

Hey NewKid! you got a link to that page? I can't read it at that size and I'm sure it's not off the top of your head. Maybe ask HMW?
Sorry if that sounds bitchy but I don't like teases.
