Thanks, Anna.

Dangerous? Not so sure about that. Possibly, if anybody other than an intern reads it, which I doubt. Congresspeople are too busy meeting with lobbyists to pay attention to what their constituents have to say. Of course, it might put you on a no-fly list. Cranky constituents=terrorists, remember. Seriously, I don't think there's any risk in this alone. Although....I was finishing off a tomato sandwich and a can of rootbeer the other day, and within minutes the inside of my upper lip was totally covered with blisters. Still having trouble with it. Do you think they poisoned me? (Ok, ok, so I should have washed off the top of the can first.) I would say this "tongue-in-cheek", but that would hurt too much.

oh, NOW you tell me they ain't even gonna read it...great. and just when i had so much faith in all of them and in our glorious democracy, har har.

so...any ideas on who would publish it as an open letter? (even fatter chance there, eh?)

might be i'll come to decide it's more effective to ask it in public, anyway - since the whole point is to get people to see that something is very fishy no matter what they try to answer with. am i missing something, or do these questions put them on the ropes any which-a-way?

does the logic in this letter fall down somewhere? (anybody who sees it and doesn't point it out to me is a big fat poopy-headed pud so there.)

ouch the blisters sound painful, chig. hope those heal soon. weird that my daughter is having a never-before problem with tiny blisters around her lips right now. she eschews soda-pop, though, so no correlation there. the garden tomatoes are beyond bountiful right now, but she doesn't eat so many of those, either. i'd have to guess yours is the acid in the t's or else something was on the can. our mom's were right - wash those can-tops! who knows who's up to what these days.

phone's ringing...

Well, in addition to sending the letter, and attending our Congresspeople's town meetings, don't forget that wanna-be candidates for president courting Iowa voters for the Iowa caucus parade will be marching down the road in a few months. Go to all the candidate's meetings that you can, and ask a very pointed question about where they each stand on investigating the issue. Provide some printed material, if they will accept it. I went to a couple of Howard Dean's meetings, and I saw local people handing him printed material, which he did accept. You can also corner their aides as a back-up plan.
