This is very weird. The main references I could find were of Thierry. Can't find any pictures of the ABC News footage, but they did mention it...

Thierry was wrong according to the stories though. The building is still there and the reports sound like it was either a building behind it or the back of the building.

Quote:

Attacks on U.S. Change Life at NIH
By Rich McManus
Photos by Rich McManus, Bill Branson, Lew Bass

On the Front Page...

The transition from peacetime's reliable routine to wartime anxiety took place in only minutes as NIH employees came to work on an otherwise spectacular late summer morning Sept. 11 and discovered by 9:45 — via office televisions, radio, the web, phone calls and hallway conversations — that terrorism on an almost unimaginable scale was taking place in New York City and in the heart of Washington, D.C. I was working the morning of September 11 2001, when one of my coworkers said "a plane has hit the WTC in NY". We quickly gathered around the TVs in our library and I could not believe what I was seeing. I'm from NY, and my brother lives in NYC and recently had an interview in one of the towers.

Then the rumors began to fly around the firm - a bomb went off on the national Mall, the Old Executive Office Building was on fire, there was a car bomb at the State Department. One intrepid coworker and I ran up to our roof to see if we could verify any of these rumors, but we could see that the smoke from the Pentagon was blowing around and leading folks to believe there were multiple sources of fire. It was quite a view from up there, but kindof scary since our building is adjacent to the FBI and we were hearing about a 4th plane headed for DC.

(...)

www.wherewereyou.org/search/?searchtype=location&searchtext=district+of+columbia

September 13, 2001
(...)

But I was lucky; I merely sat in the office in horror with many similarly-effected co-workers as we braced for the worst. So it appears that they have arrived in the USA afterall.
