About Tarpley's "open letter"... he says:

Quote:
I would invite you to interpret this important signal piece as a warning issued by a section of the US ruling elite of their readiness to use some form of revisionist exposé of the real story of 9/11 as a political weapon

maybe it's just me, but my interpretation of this Jacobson and his article was a guy trying to make sense of the "Truth Movement" and looking at it with an open but skeptical mind. Of course he could have focused on other questions, but he brought up the ones that are most commonly emphasized by the Truthers themselves, which you can hardly blame him for. He probably hasn't spent four years in front of a computer "investigating" 9/11, after all.

Unless Tarpley knows something I don't, there's no basis whatsoever for saying what he says.

This is what bores me with much conspiratological thinking (not all, but much of it). Everything has to be interpreted as a piece of a larger puzzle, or as directed by dark actors behind the curtain pulling strings, regardless of whether there is any evidence of that or any good reason to think so. Sometimes an article is just an article.

Quote:
The 9/11 truth movement is now offered a perhaps unique opportunity to change the course of world history for the better.

Delusions of grandeur - if there isn't some ulterior agenda at work here (there's me thinking conspiratologically myself, admittedly... but with a former? Larouchie, I think that's excusable).

Quote:
This can be done by mobilizing world public opinion on the basis of a unifying political platform of full MIHOP, identifying the September criminals as intelligence networks inside the US-UK military/security bureaucracy, exercising control above and behind the Bush-Cheney White House and Tony Blair’s 10 Downing Street.

The overriding POLITICAL issue at hand is the reality of MIHOP, the key to avoiding opportunism on the one hand and the sectarianism of purely technical disputes on the other. It is time to direct all available polemical energies outward, towards breaking the influence of the gatekeepers on the left and the right, and towards maximizing the political impact of the 9/11 scandal.

I'm nowhere near sold on the so-called reality of "full MIHOP". And I'm not willing to trust Tarpley on the issue. I find his insistance on the necessity of uniting behind the "full MIHOP" banner suspicious. Maybe he knows something I don't though - perhaps his buddy, general Ivashov, has confided him some secrets? You know, the Russian general who allegedly is of the opinion that "America must be destroyed", who's been a "consultant" for Alexandr Dugin, who co-organized the "Pristina dash" in Kosovo with the drug-connected general Kvashnin. I'm sure he agrees about "maximizing the political impact of the 9/11 scandal"...

(By the way, the list of panelists and speakers at that "Axis for Peace" conference is quite interesting. In addition to Tarpley and Ivashov, there's Helga Zepp-LaRouche, Christopher Bollyn, Andreas von Bülow (German spook and aristocrat), Philip Berg (the guy with that ridiculous RICO suit), alongside CFR member John D. Anthony, an Iraqi former OPEC legal advisor and Oil for Food envoy, the vice president of the Saudi Association for Media and Communication... a motley crew, one might say)
