Analyzing South Park's 9/11 Show

Hugh Manatee Wins are ya there?

www.opednews.com/articles/opedne_bill_dou_061012_analyzing_south_park.htm
October 12, 2006 at 19:03:03

by Bill Douglas

http://www.opednews.com

Last night I watched South Park in AMAZEMENT, as their character for the 9/11 truth movement wore a black shirt with "911TRUTH.ORG" in huge white letters that ALWAYS seemed to be facing the viewers. It got better, Cartman and his buddy actually got to the White House where Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld et al, confessed to the crimes of 9/11.

Then things descended, and it was all a hoax, and Bush et al said that actually they were the ones who created the 9/11 truth movement, to fool Americans into believing they controlled everything, and that all those tens of millions believing 9/11 was an inside job were fools manipulated by the smart Bush people.

So many possibilities emerge from this. One thing I've found over the last few years is that media will often write a "9/11 hit piece" and then weave within it many links and information that gets the reader curious about the fact that the official story doesn't really make sense, when you look at it. This harkens back to the old KGB run Soviet Union, where journalists would "hide" facts within stories, and the Soviet people were savvy enough to get the "real" message.

A few months after 9/11 a Canadian newspaper writer did just this, writing what looked like a 9/11 hit piece, but working major disturbing facts in it, and then giving my email address findtruth40@hotmail.com for those wanting more information. When I called him, he apologized for the hit piece quality, but said that's the only way he could get the facts to the public, past his editor. The result was amazing. I got hundreds of emails from angry Canadians who believed that 9/11 was an inside job, and who'd read past the Trojan horse hit piece aspect and saw the facts within the article.

I believe the makers of South Park may have been doing the same thing. The reason I say this, is because the "911TRUTH.ORG" organizer character was on the screen A LOT, with his chest, where the t-shirt said "911TRUTH.ORG" in huge white letters aimed right at the camera or the viewers. It was up on the screen for a long, long, long time. When I went to www.911truth.org last night while the show was on it was slower than it had ever been. My educated guess is that this was due to MASSIVE traffic on the site, people watching South Park were running to their computers to check out this 911TRUTH.ORG. 911truth.org is one of the finest 9/11 truth websites, and a GREAT portal for new people to enter the 9/11 truth movement. Perhaps the South Park creators were savvy enough to do what the Canadian newspaper writer had done early on, get the message out "in any way possible."

Now, having said that, there is another aspect of the South Park episode, that bears dealing with. If we take the episode at face value, which as I've already said, I think their objective was more sympathetic to 9/11 truth seekers than what the surface suggested, we see another issue.

In the episode, at the end, the Bush White House was again actually the organizer of the 9/11 truth seeking movement and websites to make Americans think that they were all powerful, and would not want to challenge them. Its funny because this is a line I've heard from a few peace & justice organizers over the years, as I've desperately tried to get them to take on 9/11 truth, and the government's lies and cover ups regarding 9/11. They said their people would be overwhelmed, and "give up" if they thought the government was behind 9/11. In essence they thought they had to "protect their people" from the truth. These organizers greeted us with suspicion, and some said that by talking about 9/11, we were "distracting" people from the issue of war, as if they were thinking what the South Park episode had suggested that 9/11 truth seekers were from the government.

That is dangerous heady territory for human beings to enter, when they have to hide facts from the people they represent. And the fact is, it wasn't true. We, the 9/11 truth seeking movement, came together during the massive protests against the build up for war. We purchased and distributed thousands of "Stop the 9/11 Cover Up" signs at the major peace demonstrations in New York and San Francisco in the lead up to the war. The marchers were HUNGRY for them. Many putting aside their peace signs they'd brought for the march in favor of holding "Stop the 9/11 Cover Up". They saw the reality that until this lie is exposed, our people will be frightened into giving all they have for weapons and protection. They saw that the 9/11 lie was not just about war in Iraq, but war in Iran, Syria, Venezuela, and wherever there was oil, as described in the PNAC document which called for an attack on the US homeland to frighten Americans into agreeing to this insane oil grabbing foreign policy.

The other aspect of the South Park episode that bears scrutiny is the idea that "19 crazy Moslems" as the South Park writers wrote, fooled the trillion dollar US air defense and intelligence behemouth and slipped in to fly hijacked planes for an hour and a half flying perfect bullseyes into three highly protected buildings, without one interceptor showing up until it was too late. Then in their story the Bush people acted like 9/11 truth seekers to "fool Americans" into thinking that Bush et al DID do 9/11, so that Americans would think the Bush people were all powerful.

Of course the initial obvious problem with this is that if the massive military industrial complex of the United States is so "powerless" that they couldn't have pulled this off, how are we to believe that 19 ragtag Moslems directed by someone in a cave with a cell phone could do it. It's insane on its face.

However, the most disturbing aspect of this is the idea that we accept this absurdity, and give up our power to actually look at the facts. That we accept this schizophrenic reality, and assume that our government is simultaneously powerless to stop 19 ragtag Moslems, and yet sophisticated enough to create a false 9/11 truth movement. This tells Americans that it's all way too complex, and you should just give up, sit back, and let the smart people like "Bush" and "Cheney" run things. Yeah right, let them run things right into the proverbial ground.

But, as I said, I am an optimist. I believe this South Park episode sent thousands and thousands of people to 911TRUTH.ORG where they learned a lot, and will share that with others. I believe there is great hope for truth, and our nation, and our world. It is always darkest before the dawn.

When Americans realize how they've been lied to, they will begin to question EVERYTHING. This will break the glass menagerie twinkling lies and reveal that a free energy electric economy has been possible for ten years, and covered up. (See "Who Killed the Electric Car."). They will see that we can export this and other renewable technology worldwide, creating jobs here, increased health, and a calmer less energy starved world.

I see great things for humanity. But, we'd need to kick our politicians and media in the butt to make a few things happen first. www.CongratulationsDemocratsNOWdoYourJob.com is a way to do that. Every morning people sit down with their morning coffee there, and begin the drum beat that will force our media and Congress to do their jobs. South Park sent thousands to 911Truth.org's wonderful website. The truth is coming. It may not always look the way we thought it would, when it came out, but truth is relentless. Like the water that carved out the Grand Canyon. Truth keeps coming and will not go away.

By William E. My son loves South Park, while I deeply despise it. He was over the other night when it was on and refused to watch, saying "aww man, they're making fun of it." and I'm like "wait! 9/11Truth.org really exists-all kinds of people will go there and find out the truth."

I still hate SP, but at least in this instance, they performed a service, imo, intentional or not.

the things i noticed most were:

-comparing 9/11 conspiracy theory to anti-semitism and "zionist jews running everything"

-it ends suggesting the government runs all the 9/11 truth websites so the government would make us believe they did 9/11 so they could make us believe they really run everything and that that's some how comforting. this concept is actually premised on the 'incompetent government' meme and suggests the government knows how incompetent it is so it started running 9/11 complicity websites trying to make us believe they did it and so psychologically it hides their true incompetence from to citizen's mind. (i didn't say it wasn't tortured logic).

-i never watch south park. lol.

___________________________________________
"Fascism finds root best in unreality and dysfunction." - Me

"Speaking the Truth in times of universal deceit is a revolutionary act" -George Orwell

"When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. My things are getting weird, aren't they? I wonder who those boys have been talking to and where exposure marginalizes an idea instead of spreading it. Complicated.

But I do understand the dynamics of 'absolute value' and the use of steganography to slip info past gatekeepers to embed into curious minds.

"Now I would never accuse Mr. McCain of having a black love child" - sort of thing. If you are a young South Park fan using the internet, you probably already have been exposed to the 9/11 truth movement. If you are just a South Park cable TV fan, you probably are holding the line with 'too cool for school' skepticism and maybe even outright scorn at the 'conspiracy theorists.' If you haven't talked to people about 9/11, I'm here to tell you that very often this CT expression jumps out of their mouths first thing as if to say 'I'm not crazy' before they voice any opinion.

So the net effect of this South Park episode might be to further polarize the young 9/11 Know Somethings vs the Know Nothings. The propaganda from the man is that the 911 truth and conspiracy movements are psyops of the 'enemy' to win hearts and minds to be sympathetic to the enemy cause.

The other option posed by SP is interesting in terms of stability operations and low intensity conflict. As a domestic psyop, to identify and tag suspected 'domestic terrorists' for future processing.

Either way, I believe the effect will be even greater polarization among the populace.

One of the first links that got me questioning the questioners. This is about a statement signed by a variety of people hosted on 911truth.org.

ofquestionsquestions

One of the signers was Ray McGovern, so it is factually accurate to say that at least one officer of the CIA was part of that effort. What that actually means we've argued about here.

I don't know who the folks are behind that site. John Gray was one of the funders behind 911truth.org as well as someone who funded infomercials for Barry Zwicker's 911 book. And THAT is a huge parapolitical mess. I don't know how much of the 911truth.org funding came from Gray but here are a few tidbits:

Gray was in business with a company run by arms dealer-Iran/Contra "star', Adnon Kashoggi

Gray was also a longtime associate of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi of Transcendental meditation fame.

These are documented here:

link

Hopsicker has also written about this stuff, but I found the above article to be better documented and more cautious in its approach.

Here's the Hopsicker link.

hopsicker

I was able to take this further but no time for links. For example, the Natural Law Party was a backer of Kucinich. And the lawyer for the NLP was none other than Daniel Sheehan who also worked in the Kucinich campaign.

Sheehan moved from his work destroying slam dunk legal cases of political importance at the Christic insitute to working with the Disclosure Project, founded by a rather cultish Stephen Greer, who, you will not be surprised to learn, is ALSO hooked into the TM movement.

Quite a happy family.

I think you can fairly easily google these names in combinations and see that this is not really a dark secret. If there is any dispute of the above...maybe I'll have some time to run it down.

This stuff is not neat and tidy. These convoluted connections do not point to some easily identifiable grand plan, unless you are already convinced that part of the elite agenda is the creation of a new sort of religion. But games are being played.

Just to toss one last headspinning thing into all this in the spirit of the last paragraph, I learned on the above Hopsicker page (which rambles all over the place much like this post) that the famous "war of the world's " broadcast in 1938 was actually a psyops experiment by funded by the Rockefeller foundation. It's well documented...in fact there's an entire book about it.

Rockefeller's abound in this Hopsicker piece...and it's worth noting that Lawrence Rockefeller funded all kinds of UFO research.

SRI gets tossed into all this as well...which brings us to Scientology...

those of you still looking for a black and white world won't be happy with much of all the above...but that's the way these things work...convoluted, hard to trace (intentionally) connections and unclear agendas...usually with more than one goal at a time.

With the black tee shirt reading 911truth.org facing the audience all the time, I would hope that all the folks would see past the show's content and go directly to 911truth.org to find out what the questions that remain unanswered are. Are there enough people out there who want to know? How smart are people anyway? Why didn't more people go to the streets when the election was stolen? What will it take to moblize the population? For the answer to these and other questions keep watching South Park!

Sponsored Hit Piece

Postby The Omega Man » Sat Oct 14, 2006 4:23 pm

Actually for this to even make the radar of the show's creative team, exposes the level of impact the 9/11 Truth movement is having as a whole. That and the hastened legislation that illegitimately authorizes Bush to brand anyone a terrorist, terrorist sympathizer or enemy combatant who he feels opposes him, his rule or fascist agenda. The media brushes are already at work to paint bloggers, info-warriors, 9/11 Truth seekers and general believers in governement criminality as 5th columnists, anti-semites or worse. I think this was a sponsored hit piece to ridicule and isolate, with an unintended blowback of having curious watchers go to the websites and see for themselves. It was a tenuous psy-ops at best. Ask yourselves this... Cui Bono, Who benefits and to whose was this advantage? Matt and Trey? Examine the larger aspect in all of this, scope out its entirety. It's a lashing out at something that's causing the guilty party no end of consternation. They sleep every night worrying about the American masses blowback and go about constructing mechanisms of propaganda, blatantly unconstitutional legislation, illegal surveillance of the populace, media barrages and the like; all to futiley distance themselves from the scales of ultimate justice. They fear us the people throughout every waking moment and it's betrayed through the desperation of their actions.

Are they too scared or are they flying under the radar? The Colbert Report is really good if you know how to watch the show. Interestingly enough there are a LOT of repubs. that don't seem to get the Colbert Report and think it is for real. Are we too stupid for SATIRE or what? We as a people, "A person is smart, people are stupid." K from MIB. How right he is.
