Loose Change "accessories" for sale? hmmm...

Postby slow_dazzle » Wed Nov 22, 2006 9:01 am

The shopping section of the top level domain was linked off a popular political website - I've cut the referrer code off the url>>>

http://www.lc911.com/lc911/catalog/

The overall impression I got was exactly the opposite to the one I would want to convey if I wanted the subject to be taken seriously. T-shirts, bumper stickers and so on...hmmm...does not come over as serious to me but maybe I'm being over-critical. Then again, it might be deliberate...

Duh...

Oh but what's the problem with confronting everybody you see indiscriminately with a bold black Truth T-shirt? After all the case is blown open and everyone knows the Pentagon was hit with a missile and the WTC was brought down with drones with pods firing missiles, multiple bombs before, during and after the impact and thermate. It's time to stop meeting each other like early Christians drawing fish in the dirt and start putting it in everyone's face, right? Isn't the revolution nigh at hand? Isn't Morgan Reynolds our Constantine?

sorry if I gave the wrong impression VG

I am in the MIHOP camp. Problem with reading text on a screen is that voice inflexion, facial expression and body language are absent so it's easy to misinterpret what someone really wants to get across.

What I did want to say (and failed to do - my bad) is that, in the minds of the unbelievers, to be presented with imagery which is part pop culture debases the currency and dilutes the message. Perhaps the best way to express this is to draw the distinction between two documentaries on "terrorist" activities I have watched.

I saw "In Plane Site" and after watching it suspected there was a typo in the title; an "h" was missing. It was full of glitzy, almost showbiz expose, delivery that made me deeply suspicious. It was way too slick too which made me wonder about who financed it and who produced such a polished product.

In contrast, I recently saw "Ludicrous Diversion" (also mentioned on RI) and it was believable. The reasons why that is so are articulated well on RI. Suffice it to say here LD is the sort of documentary that should have been produced about 9/11, one based upon sober delivery. If someone started producing LD t-shirts and other consumer goodies I would start to think...PSYOP.

I agree that the message must get out but it has to be done strategically. Developing an industry in accessories is not the way to do it imho.

I hope that makes some sense VG.

I was chatting with an older friend about 9-11 documentaries and we realized every one of them is shit.

I'm curious about Ludicrous Diversion....is it sad that simply because I never heard of it, I automatically assume it might be good?

Slow Dazzle - on missing inflection, etc. - Exactly. That post of mine was just drenched with sarcasm. Maybe too much. I just started a blog page http://frustratingfraud.blogspot.com/ dedicated to ripping up for good the no-plane-at-the Pentagon theory and many of those who push it. I'm a MIHOP/LIHOP fence-sitter. Both make their own kind of sense and I can't in good conscience deny the possibility of either. The official story of course was out the window at second one for me.
In Plane Shite is just that. Loose Change - a little slicker but same - marketing is secondary to message and on both fronts they are not what we need. LD I've never heard of but I like the title - I'll have to check it out. Is it about stupid theories? These distractions are ludicrous - esp IPS, with nary a true claim in it - I've seen many people eventually catch on but now I'm worried that while fighting all these flawed theories and purveyors we may have been distracted from yet other flaws that have gone unexamined. I'm re-visiting my list of evidence. Its operational security. This is a marathon, not a Sprint. Thanks for responding!

had a quick look at your blog which looks good - healthy scepticism which is the basis of critical thought. Then again, posters at RI are not the sort of people who are easily fooled.

You are right about the marathon analogy btw. Gonna take a long hard run to get to the truth. If we ever do.

I'll have a good read of your blog. Meanwhile have a look at LD so you can make up your own mind. A good book on the subject is "The London Bombings" by Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed.

Response to Ludicrous Distraction

Postby Vigilant Guardian » Sat Nov 25, 2006 10:19 pm

Thanks for the link, Daz - I can’t say I watched the whole thing beginning to end but I saw most of it. It’s compelling but I get a bit of the same feel I got watching Pentagon Strike or Loose Change. It seems very convincing, facts thrown at you with slick music making all seem to "make sense." To know how good it really I’d have to do some more studying. So far I don’t really know too much about the 7/7 incident – it’s extremely weird to say the least, happening amidst the G8 Summitt, after “the Power of Nightmares” and just as “V for Vendetta” was about to come out. There’s a bizarre mindf*ck going on over there. One thing I’ve looked into is the Peter Power/Visor drill connection - it seems beyond coincidence but also feels like a bizarre red herring. It seems the video went a little light on this.
I did like the part on ID cards: “ID cards will have the same effect on preventing terrorism as license plates have in preventing car crashes.” “who exactly is being watched here? The so-called terrorists… or us?” It seemed at first to be calling for an inquiry but I liked where they said “Full public inquiries are not full. And they’re not public.” I remember the hubbub over the “independent commission” to look at the “unanswered questions” of 9/11. The whole Kissinger thing was a sideshow and just getting a “bi-partisan” commission not controlled personally by Bush eventually seemed the goal of the battle. Glad to see the Truthers there are skipping this step.

Same old problem of the 'alternative' media trying to imitate the Monoform with just a change of content... the inherent problems with the form remain. No good.

Ludicrous Diversion is 'better' only in that it's less specific/wacky, asks questions without drawing too many rash conclusions, and is really about an actually important subject; ie how terrible an idea ID cards are.

Also i think a lot of American viewers seem to think it's more 'professional' etc simply because it's a weak imitation of the British style of Monoform (ie BBC/channel 4 news 'serious') rather than the pro-wrestling news style that you guys seem to be more used to! :)

But it's still just a cheapo imitation of the monoform, which we should all be fighting against rather than buying into as the correct way to make a 'professional looking' documentary... ending up like kids playing at being anchormen thru a cardboard box TV.

Orz, great! Didn't see the link - I'll check that now - but I googled it and found a piece by Peter Watkins http://www.mnsi.net/~pwatkins/hollywood.htm That seems to be about what I'm seeing here. A definite turn-off but... it is still filled with discrete and verifiable units of info - if people can see it, be inspired, track all these facts down to the primary sources and then even question those, then we have a fighting chance. :D

glad you found it interesting... I think it's a pretty important essay, and from someone who seems to have a lot of direct experience of being at the recieviing end of media control! I really wanna see some of his films now, tho of course will be difficult to find for the reasons detailed on his site!
