The British Library Periodicals Division is at Colindale, North London and still holds all archived UK press publications for the 19th and 20th centuries - in microfiche form. Some attempts to place these online was attempted in 2000 but the estimated costs of £150million+ were deemed excessive and the BL curators couldn't raise the money. This year new sponsors were approached for financing and as I understand it there is an announcement pending.

Good direct sources of information on what I have posted are:

President Harry S Truman's daughter Margaret Truman Daniel
The president of the Privy Council Office
The curator of the College of Arms
The chairman of the Crown Estate
The Rt Hon the Lord Strathclyde (leader of the Tory Party in the House of Lords)
