Did everyone see this?

Credit cards being shut off.

After the show played, Chappelle was seen having dinner with friends at Pastis in New York City's fashionable meatpacking district. When he tried to pick up the tab, embarassingly he found out that his credit card had been rejected. He tried several other credit cards, and found that surprisingly, they were rejected too.

After his last credit card was declined, Chappelle received a call on his cell phone. Chappelle confided to his friends that the voice on the line advised him that "this is only the beginning if you don't do what we want — try your credit cards now." Chappelle, clearly rattled, told the wait staff to run his credit card once more. When it did, this may have been when Chappelle began to realize the seriousness of the situation.

It's not everyday you hear of Oprah being accused of direct psyops.

Despite what appeared to be a growing conspiracy against him, Chappelle forged ahead with his show, refusing to rewrite skits. That week's show featured the "Niggars" sketch, and following its run, Chappelle began feeling the pressure again.

On Tuesday, while watching an episode of the Oprah Winfrey show, Chappelle recalled being completely stunned when Winfrey turned to the camera in the middle of interviewing Tom Cruise and said "Dave Chappelle, you should be ashamed of yourself for airing that Niggars sketch on your show this week, I'm going to make sure you never work in Hollywood again."

The image, allegedly taped by Winfrey, and transmitted to Chappelle's house under the direction of Robert L. Johnson who called in some favors with Chappelle's local affiliate station manager, terrified Chappelle.

or the Farrakhan goons' handywork.

This reached its apex when Chappelle emerged from the shower one morning to find the three men sitting in his bathroom. By Chappelle's account, they told him "If we can get into your home this easily David, imagine what we can do to you if we really wanted to hurt you. If you don't tone down your show, maybe the next time we're in your bathroom, we'll be waiting for your wife or children to get out of the shower — not you."

Chappelle was found on the bathroom floor by his wife several hours later — most likely having fainted due to shock. When he tried to relate the story to her, she immediately called for an ambulance, thinking — and rightfully so — that her husband was having a nervous breakdown. The incident was hushed up by Chappelle's agent, who was in negotiations with Comedy Central to produce a third season of Chappelle's Show.

powerful dark actors.

Chappelle made one more phone call that evening to Bill Cosby...all he said to Bill was "it's over...call off the dogs."

"Only when I see an announcement in the press," Cosby responded.

don't miss the rest....

www.chappelletheory.com/index.html

Interesting

I wondered why Chapelle just vanished off the face of the planet like that. It wouldn't surprise me that some members of the black community would be offended by alot of his material, but the theory is very heavy on the hearsay.

That's scary stuff

Postby Asta » Tue Dec 20, 2005 6:19 pm

I've watched Chappell's stuff on DVD, and I laughed until it hurt. But never did his skits make me believe that all black people were dopers or pimps or whatever. It would be like watching All in the Family and believing every blue collar worker was Archie Bunker.

I haven't finished reading the whole web site, but it made me wonder -- if Richard Pryor had not gotten Multiple Sclerosis, would the Black Elite have silenced him somehow? Or maybe they did...

I noticed that Chris Rock is not doing the Oscars this time, is there something going on with that?

(Personally, I've never really liked Bill Cosby, I always thought he was a little bit smarmy, and his humor was formulaic, not the manic, wild, from the heart, in your face energized insanity of Pryor or Chappelle.)

I think the "dark crusaders" site is a satire on conspiracies.

Interesting comment on that firstofnewleaders at DailyKos site, I wonder if he actually read the Chapelle site....according to the Chapelle conspiracy site , there were at least six 3rd season episodes already in the can before the plug was pulled....CC is probably running these shows next year? I can't get the trailer to play without clipping so I have no idea what the trailer is referring to.

It's back (none / 0)

The Dave Chappelle Show is back in 2006, being promoted by Comedy Central. You can see the trailer at their Last Laugh 2005 page.

I'm going to have to call bullshit on the "conspiracy". I think what Steve Gilliard wrote (can't find link, sorry) is most likely: Chappelle didn't like how the success was changing those around him, possibly being betrayed by a close friend. So he walked away instead of having his life corrupted by the success. It's one way to purge yourself of hangers-on and groupies, that's for sure.
