Gettin' Yore Figgers Right

Postby Floyd Smoots » Sat Dec 24, 2005 1:52 am

slim-bob, the last time I checked, the national debt figures out to about $75,000-$100,000 per person (including newborns) for every one of us here in the Untied States uv Amerika. If they came to our doors with legal papers, backed up with guns, and demanded payment in CASH, CHECK, GOLD, or MONEY ORDER, of said debt, about 98-per-cent-PLUS of us would be hauled off to the "coming soon to a neighborhood near you" debtor's prisons that are being built and prepared "just for us special folks" even as we sit here and blog.

Brother Floyd

Creative Accounting

slim,
It must be the Christmas spirit.
You're being far too generous to them.
The true Offense Spending Budget of the USA is between eight and nine hundred billion a year. The rest is hidden elsewhere. I've seen some sharp analyses of this very issue, and I'm sure I could find one again if needsbe. I think there was a good one on TomDispatch.

That's over fifty dollars per week per person. Including those persons with no health coverage, no home or no future.

And funnily enough, I've been following fdl recently. You know what? They've come to the conclusion that Bush has in fact declared martial law in secret.
All things come to those who wait.

Merry, Merry Christmas to you, and thank you for your posts.

Anti, what IS "fdl", and where can I view that opinion, not that I personally disagree with it.

Floyd,
fdl = firedoglake.
It's a website that has distinguished itself recently, most notably in covering the Fitzgerald investigation into the exposure of a CIA agent. As a result they have a lively and informative comments section.

It's quite striking. What was being discussed on RI six months ago has now gone mainstream (mainstream progressive blog, I mean).

Back then they were sneering at us for our promiscuity of thought. Now they're like teenagers who've discovered sex

Added on edit:

Old timers might find this photo amusing

firedoglake.blogspot.com/...4763922291

Edited by: antiaristo at: 12/24/05 6:19 pm
