REPORT ON THE CHARACTER OF THE HUMAN RACE

Postby survival » Fri Jan 06, 2006 9:31 pm
Report on the character of the human race

Let it be said first, to give the gist of this report, that the human race has the lowest justice rating this committee has ever encountered - in fact, 60 percentage points below the lowest other justice rating this committee has ever given. The human race has a justice rating around zero.
Pay for a particular quantum of work [100 hours] ranges from a million times the average to a 1000th of the average.
Rationality exists, but is extremely rare. Especially in their most vital concerns, where their rationality is swamped by nonsense. Some are capable of extreme rationality in nonvital areas of thought.
Incredibly, goodness has been given a bad name, although humans cannot think of it like that. The notion of goodness has become detached from the pursuit of happiness. To an observer, it seems that the pursuit of happiness itself, has been lost. Humans are convinced that they are pursuing happiness, but they are doing it without knowing the ground rules. Without the will to learn the rules. As if in defiance of the rules, as if they wanted to prove they can be happy without following the rules of sanity.
Confusingly, if you ask them the effect of extreme injustice, say, taxing 99% of the people 99%, they will all agree that that will cause extreme violence. But when it comes to seeing the extreme injustice as the cause of the extreme violence that they have, and seeing the removal of the extreme injustice as the only means to remove the extreme violence, they are almost without exception unable or unwilling to do so. None of their peace organisations focuses on means to decrease injustice. I don't think they see the connection between injustice and misery.
One might speculate that they are in a state of panic induced by the extreme overpay and underpay, and distracted by the millions of problems that situation generates. They are terrified by the underpay and slavery yawning below them, be they never so high in overpay, into trying to climb higher into overpay to try to escape the underpay. They do not see that everyone trying to climb higher only makes the underpay greater and the likelihood of slipping into it greater [or the certainty of slipping in to it sooner]. 99% would be better paid with justice. 90% would be between 10 and 1000 times better paid [for 90% are paid between a 10th and a 1000th of the fairpay], and yet they cannot comprehend the benefits of justice. It is as though the minority suffer from limitless avarice and the great majority suffer from the opposite vice, whatever that may be called.
I say: It is as though; because of course they are unable to rationalise their irrationality. They do not think, they do not want to think, they live in denial of reality, and they abhor teachers of reality. One can do so little in the direction of sanity because they quickly become violent if persistently challenged in their beliefs. Apparently they so hate to think themselves wrongheaded that they cannot face the fact that they can be wrongheaded - and so cannot do anything to cure wrongheadedness!
You will hardly believe me when I say that they are unconscious that the overpay of the 1% is funded by the underpay of the 99%. They have never become conscious - and seem unable to become conscious - that while no person can work more than twice as hard as the average, they are allowing at least one person to be paid a million times the average. Yes, a million times the average. While at the other end, in the most extreme underpay, 50 million starve to death each year. That is enough to bowl you over, I know, but I have to add: and the most overpaid are very highly respected.
It is not understood that the overpaid are thieves. It is not understood that allowing people to take out of the social pool of wealth, of products of work, more than they put in, is depriving anyone of anything.
The fact that money and power go together like ears on a rabbit is not clearly understood, either. So they do not know that the overpaid are necessarily tyrants, thieves of freedom and power. There is no general will to limit overpay in order to limit tyranny.
To give further details can only be to extend the catalogue of confused ideas. They know money is good, for they wouldn't work half the day if they didn't know it, and sorrow the loss of it, and rejoice at the arrival of it; but they often pay lipservice to the idea that money is not good. Consequently they feel that the study of money is inferior. This of course puts them at the mercy of those unscrupulous who do study money, and learn the ways that money automatically moves from earners to non-earners.
Learning is so perverted that anyone who attempts to teach the truth about justice is regarded as an underminer of society. Dear, oh dear.
Overpay and underpay has been increasing for millenia, and of course so has violence. But alarm at this has not replaced complacency. Weaponry is so powerful now, that they have the bombs to destroy all life on their planet 60 times over. They are not seriously concerned. They are not earnestly looking for a solution. They are even lighthearted about this prospect.
I know. It is a catalogue of unbelievables. So it is.
I realise I am only making it more unbelievable if I point out the facts that, nonetheless, there is none who would run a business paying people very different amounts for the same work, none who would feed family members very different amounts, none who would give very different pocketmoney to children, none who would consider trying to greatly increase bloodflow to the brain at the expense of the legs, and none, as I said before, that would not understand that taxing 99% of the people 99% and giving the money to the 1% would lead to tremendous upheaval and disorder.
It is a perfect conundrum, excruciatingly frustrating to try to understand. They are perfectly sane and perfectly insane. This is not a race of wildmen running around pouring milk on their heads.

Some Answers on the Character of the Human Race

I understand your frustration at what it to you so obvious an inequity. Perhaps you will find this article enlightening. It is a commentary with extensive quotes on a study of pschopathy as it manifests in the structure of society:

Political Ponerology - by Laura Knight-Jadczyk

www.cassiopaea.org/cass/p...zewski.htm

It's a dense read, but very rewarding.

Blue Ibis

thanks, blue ibis [nice name!] - i read it - good - sketches in some points that i havent covered in my book globalhappiness [free at www.globalhappiness.org - not an org] -

the scientific language used is almost an illiteracy - 'think like a great person and talk like an ordinary person' aristotle - points could have been dealt with in much simpler language - but then, if the language was easy, people would think the thought worth little

the major weakness in the piece is the usual universal complete failure to notice the giant factor in society and psychopathy - the superhyperextreme injustice=theft - as the prime cause - clearly some things are too BIG to be seen - the fact that, when you offer unlimited wealth and power to individuals, the psychopaths are the fastest racers after them, is of very secondary importance -

behind the history of psychopaths in power is the people, more insane, who create individual unlimited wealth and power by not limiting fortunes to the max that an individual can contribute to society by their work

how stupid is it to say: yes, you can have unlimited wealth and power - when everyone knows that power corrupts, that people with great relative power have no need to care what people think of them - that giants of wealth and power will treat people like we treat ants

i made the point in globalhappiness that one of the things causing difficulties in society is that the less agressive, psychopathic etc project their relative decency on to their leaders - also the leaders project their own psychopathy onto the people - leaders cannot imagine the relative decency of the people and the people cannot imagine the relative indecency of the leaders - which is why the people are slow to protest, and why leaders are fast to repress protest - the people 'read' the leaders much better than they are - and the leaders 'read' the people as much worse than they are

the FUNDAMENTAL ERROR OF HUMAN SOCIETY seems to be that the human chimpanzee brain thinks that, if it allows unlimited wealth and power to individuals, that will increase the individual's chances of maximising happiness and satisfaction - the individual imagines himself having that unlimited wealth and power, and so decides that allowing unlimited wealth and power is good for him - the facts that the chances of an individual getting unlimited wealth and power under unbridled injustice [theft] are vanishingly small; that the chances of getting much much less than fairpay are very very high; that unbridled theft means extreme conflict insecurity danger and disturbance, and decimation, and degeneration, of quality of life for ALL individuals, from most overpaid to most underpaid and everyone in between; that fairpay or equal pay per hour's work would give 99% of people more money, 90% of people 10 to a 1000 times more money [and power] - escapes the human mind - like gamblers, everyone has their eyes on the high prize, not the very very very high cost of unlimited overpay -

pull honey up on the knife, the higher you go, the lower the honey in the pot goes

people see limiting fortunes as a loss of freedom - a loss of the freedom to have unlimited wealth and power [which must be theft, for the amount the hardest worker earns and deserves is limited; limited to twice the average, for the average person works 50 hours a week and no one can work more than 100 hours a week] -

people do not see limiting fortunes as an enormous freedom - freedom from extreme and escalating violence and disturbance and tragedy and horror and terrors, freedom from a 90% chance of being paid between a 10th and a 1000th of what they earn and contribute to society, freedom from being under ceaseless attack from all others, who are all willynilly in the same desperate grab-all-you-can, everything-i-grab-is-mine psychopathic mentality, freedom from being under severity of attack that is in proportion to one's overpay - the rich rob the poor and the poor rob each other - and the rich rob the rich, and the poor rob the rich when they can

the poorer people are, the more they want the possibility of unlimited wealth and power, to compensate them for the years of underpay and underpower

the richer people are, the more they want the possibility of unlimited wealth and power - they need the money to pay their security costs - every empire in history stole and then paid out the money they stole in security costs - look at america - getting poor from being rich

so, the worse the inequity is, the more stimulated people are to do the things that increase inequity

no one sees that inequity is bad for all - although everyone in the world will agree that extreme inequity imposed would produce extreme protest and rebellion and trouble -

people hear grab-all-you-can, and they go 'weee, great, i can grab as much as i want' - and are then surprised when someone grabs from them - and angry - and more inclined to grab-all-they-can - to compensate themselves for having been grabbed from - and everyone grabs from everyone forever, and everyone gets angry at having been grabbed from, and takes revenge - at others' totally insensitive failure to recognise their feelings - and then the others take revenge for the revenge taken - ... vendetta forever - escalation of war and weaponry - till atomic boom! - all over

if people got what i am saying here, war would stop overnight - safety would go through the roof - stress would go through the floor - maybe it only takes 100 'monkeys' to take the trouble to really get what i am saying, and suddenly all the monkeys will get it effortlessly, automatically, 'overnight'

like if hedgehogs got the idea of traffic in their heads, the hedgehog road fatalities would disappear overnight

it may seem that such a huge phenomenon as war cannot disappear overnight - but remove the cause and the effect disappears - remove the plug and the water leaves the bath quite happily and completely

it is as simple as 100 kids, 1000 sweets, tell them to graballtheycan, and there will be endless escalating pain and anger - and very little peaceful enjoyment of sweets or anyone's company - tell them to take 10 each, and there is nothing but peaceful enjoyment of sweets and the company

it is as simple as two kids, one kid with two lunchboxes, one with none - the kid with two lunchboxes is much worse off too - he has no friend to play with, no leisure to play or eat, an endless escalating fight on his hands - hitler was wrong, kiddies! - grabbing everything in europe was a bad strategy for happiness - it seemed good to hitler - get everything in europe by grabbing everything - didnt take into account people's resentment, their nature to retaliate - well, duh, buddy

there is right now enough world income for every family to have US$75,000 a year - would that be a sacrifice for anyone? - would anyone suffer? - the overpaid would not be under attack in proportion to their overpay [the rockefellers, ceausescu, the french plutocracy in the revolution], everyone would stop being under attack from everyone else, there would be no poverty and powerlessness to fear to fall into, or to have to try to climb out of, there would be no tyrants, no monsters of superpower, nothing but smiles and friends and safety and wealth for all

US$75,000 a year would satisfy all needs and millions of desires - what more can more than that do? - the law of diminishing returns applies to more money - most desires have been satisfied by fairpay - more money can do little to add to happiness - and do much to subtract from happiness

i really wonder why people dont get very excited by this idea - are people super-masochists? - are they in love with suffering? - or are they really much more stupid than they appear? - it is the superbargain of all time - every family could save a million by saving a third of income for 40 years - at just 5%, a retirement income of $50,000 a year after just 40 years! - 10 times as many people able to contribute to knowledge and invention and buying!

the 1% overpaid get to have 90% of world income - $60 trillion a year - that others have earned - overpay [theft] has practically emptied the world pool of wealth - 90% of the pool is between a 10th and a 1000th of the depth it should be - for what? - violence, extinction up the road a ways, universal mayhem and chaos, quality of life through the floor for everyone, between 90% and 99.9% less money for 90% of people - instead of a nice swimming pool full of happy splash fun, a pool nearly drained!

it is very very hard for me to believe people cant understand what i am saying - surely it is clearly explained here? - is anything unclear here?

i have to despair of the power of words to communicate - what is missing here?

is it that you think it will be too hard for 99% of people to get the money out of the hands of the 1%? - 99 against 1?

when people see that 99% of people are in favour of it - 99% plus those among the 1% who can see reason - the battle is won - bloodlessly

you can't imagine it can happen because you can't imagine 99+% of people getting it - and you can't imagine 99+% of people getting it because you havent yet sat down with yourself and really got it yourself - get it yourself, pound it into your head, and then you will believe 99+% can get it, and when the 99+% have got it, the 1-% will know they are beaten, and lay down their arms, and be 100 times happier themselves also

pass it on to just one person a year, and everyone in the world will get it in just 33 years - one person a month, everyone will get it in just 33 months -

wordofmouth avoids the distortions of tyrant-controlled media

how much endless trouble and pain and suffering would be generated by your government taking 99% of income off 99% of the people? - and how much endless pain and trouble and suffering would disappear overnight if your government stopped taking 99% of income off 99% of the people?

1000s of years of the-rich-get-richer-and-the-poor-get-poorer have brought us to armageddon, to 9% getting between fairpay and 90% less than they earn, and 90% getting between 90% and 99.9% less than they earn - one billion on LESS THAN a dollar a day, $365 a year - 3 billion getting LESS THAN $2 a day, $730 a year - 3 billion getting LESS THAN a 100th of what they contribute to the social pool of wealth by their work - 3 billion in extreme slavery - 3 billion very pissed off, very desperate

how mad would you be to be permanently put on to 100th of your present pay? - multiply by 5 billion - that is how much violence will disappear if everyone demands fairpay of US$75,000 a year per family working average hard

humans are not 100th as bad as they behave - its just theyve been under a lot of stress lately - any nice dog will behave badly if starved and beaten enough

dont follow me - youll fall into every ditch i fall into - follow your own understanding

the great enemy is not thinking, the great enemy is thinking the generally accepted ideas cannot be wrong

now, dear humanity, ignore this superopportunity!

conscience - what is it? what isnt it?

Postby survival » Tue Jan 10, 2006 12:31 am

blue ibis, another subject that is raised in whatsiname's piece [no disrespect, but like linus in peanuts, i bleeped over the russian name - lubascewski?]

conscience - what is it? - what should it be? - lub. says that psychopaths dont have conscience - what is it they dont have, and what should they have? -

there are two great types of morality in society and one of them is i think totally wrong - the wrong one is obedience to moral precepts of society - which morality assumes, fatally and foolishly, that society's rules are good and that obedience is good - i think the correct one is where conscience is 'using one's intelligence to maximise one's happiness', pursuing one's happiness with seriousness and earnestness - i think the only duty is to pursue one's happiness -

there are moral police without licenses who like to boss people around, who basically think that people are an inferior breed that needs ordering about - the effect of morality as obedience is that people's habit of pursuing their happiness decays, they stop asking themselves constantly: is this maximising my happiness in this imperfect dangerous and very complex world? - and secondly, when they get sick of being obedient, they throw morality as obedience out the window and only have disobedience as a guide - they think they are making themselves happy if they only disobey - this applies to nazis, juvenile delinquents and everybody - since they were unhappy obeying, they think that disobedience is going to make them happy - but throwing off one unhappiness does not make all other paths paths of happiness

if one looks closely at obedience, it is selfcontradictory - in order to obey with any sense at all, one has to be competent to correctly judge the rectitude of the agency obeyed - and if one is competent to judge the rectitude of the agency obeyed, one is competent to make one's own decisions - to obey without judging the rectitude or sanity of the agency obeyed is to throw yourself away - is to dump your mind and senses and sense - to commit suicide - to become mindless arms and legs of another's will - you wouldnt think it would be so popular, but it is very popular - we hear a lot about people wanting power, but we dont hear about people wanting powerlessness - freedom from responsibility - adult babies who want others to do their thinking - most people are proud of being obedient, although to dump your own sense and rely on the sense of another without using your own sense to judge the intelligence of the other's sense - this is suicide and criminally insane immorality -

there is this severe antinomy and selfcontradiction in society, that obedience is held up as a virtue in schools and church, and expected as a duty in the workplace - and then at the nuremburg trials we are shocked that nazis claim obedience for a virtue and defense - clearly we havent worked through this one to a sane point - we are still at the stage of confused and inadequate ideas

the effect of these moral police without licenses who encourage people not to use and train and develop their own sense is to give goodness a bad name - goodness is identified with submission to an authority [masturbation is bad, this is bad, that is bad] - the people then sensibly reject this and so want nothing to do with 'goodness' and 'being good' - so people turn their backs on the virtues, which are the causes of happiness - we dont want to even hear the word 'virtue' or 'duty' or 'being good' - this is all healthy and good - a person is supposed to grow out of obedience in adolescence, to start to grow one's own sense of values and judgement of what is best -

people are very passive, whereas conscience or pursuit of happiness is totally active - a constant inquiry into what is best for one - a constant openness to information of relevance to increasing happiness - whereas we are so closed to pursuit of happiness we havent even learned the sensible practical sane simple obvious golden rule: dont hurt others, or theyll hurt you

the effect of a severe obedience morality is that people under it cannot face having done wrong - so they can never know they have done wrong, when they have done wrong - a severe obedience morality creates psychopaths as described by lub. - facing the fact they have done wrong would bring down on them all the internalised wrath of the fatherfigure, the parental superego - people who have been subjected to an obedience morality [instead of a love morality] throw off this morality, and have then a vacuum in which they cannot face any information about themselves - their true conscience, the constant inquiry into what will maximise happiness is atrophied from total disuse, and the only morality they have known is now rejected - the good of the obedience morality is thrown out with the bad, the unloving, the obedience - this of course applies well to hitler if he did have a severe prussiantype father - but it applies in less degree to everyone -

children should be trained to think: is this really going to increase my happiness? ie, is this truely good? instead, children are discouraged, punished for asking: why should i do this? - philosophers no longer know what should and ought mean - 'i should do x' should mean 'doing x will increase my happiness'

if people can put aside all mindlessly accepted ideas and look at obedience, they will see that obedience is criminal immorality - obedience is mindlessly lending ones arms and legs and brain and life to the will of another, without making any inquiry as to the morality or goodness of the person submitted to - it is a survival strategy for little children to mindlessly obey their parents, but children, if loved, will be trained to develop their own understanding of reasons for doing and not doing things - reasoning, thinking will be encouraged - most society is fascist in spirit, for it aims at the oppression of individuals, the enslavement of individuals to the will of another - slavery is very popular - many parents enjoy the enslaving of their children, many parents use terror/threat/fear to oppress their children

who enquires: why is stealing bad, when is stealing bad? -

the obedience morality has made it impossible for most people to take to heart the very simple, easy to understand, sensible golden rule - dont hurt others because they are very likely to hurt you back - although experience constantly teaches the sense of this, people are 'immunized' against grasping it by the obedience morality - associated with obedience morality [enslavement, repression, unlove], the golden rule is associated with bad - the baby of the golden rule is thrown out with the bathwater of the obedience morality -

what is more obvious than that if you hurt someone they are very likely to hurt back, so hurting others is hurting yourself - making enemies is not a happiness strategy - even a 100% selfish person, who has no empathy with others at all, can understand that - a 100% selfish person will treat everyone very nicely, will minimise the enmity of everyone they meet - and so will less selfish people - but we are locked into not grasping the very simple golden rule -

our ideas have been hopelessly confused by the agents of the obedience morality - the terrorists of family and states

the good meaning of goodness is 'what increases our happiness' - the bad meaning of goodness is 'obeying precepts' -

we have been trained [by unlovers] to think pursuit of our happiness is 'selfish'/bad - most people pursue their happiness kindof sneakily, around the rim of the obedience morality - guiltily - and therefore pursue their happiness with less than maximal subtlety and intelligence

jesus talks about inheriting the kingdom - you inherit when the FATHER DIES - ie, when you become your own father/parent - eg, kinsey, in the [good] film, grows his own morality, and becomes father even to his own father - this is adulthood, this is responsibility, this is maturity - the death of god [the death of parent as other] is the beginning of morality

disobedience is just obedience with a minus sign - obedience is maximal stupidity and mindlessness - and so is disobedience - going west being a wrong way doesnt make going east the right way - the right way for maximal happiness may be any of the 360 directions

pursuit of happiness is an unalienable DUTY - the only duty - you never get an animal that isnt pursuing its happiness -

there are intelligent things even in the bible - if you read it in an original way - the definition of god is I AM WHAT I AM - that is a boast and that means [if it means something intelligent and good]: i dont submit even slightly to what anyone thinks of me, i submit only to what i think of me - i am my own parent - i have internalised guilt - i allow only myself to make myself feel guilty - if i didnt make any mistakes, i couldnt have any growth, and growth is fun - I AM WHAT I AM, and fuck you, buddy, i do my own thinking [always happy to borrow some good thinking i approve of]

paradoxically, the person who has been dealt with most gently by parents, is least damaged in goodness/pursuit of happiness, in ability to face one's errors and to correct them, and therefore to grow and develop in happiness - the stronger the superego, the less growth - the obedience merchants, the fascists of school and society, fail to apply the golden rule - they hurt others, they terrorise, they threaten, they oppress, they enslave - they do not bring children up, they hold them down, and the child grows up a psychopath, that is, an adult body with an infant's egotism and rage and lack of intelligence - lack of artistry in morality/pursuit of happiness - eg, hitler again - be happy by grabbing all europe, too stupid to grasp that people will retaliate, oppose - 40% of the nazi party were primary school teachers [Thewielt, Male fantasies, a study of german fascist pulp fiction]

how well have we assimilated the golden rule? - we accept a society that steals most earnings off most people - money buys all necessities and most wants - money is a joker good - good for millions of goods - and yet we allow the theft of US$60 trillion a year - which is over 90% of world earnings - we have billions with trillions while millions starve to death - and we dont think this might hurt us somewhere along the line - we dont think that this might rebound on us someway sometime, like 9/11 or anthrax in the post or having to go fight somebody who we have pissed off

forget compassion for the moment - how much are we hurting ourselves by this great vast ginormous hurting of others? - charlie chaplin punches a boxing machine, the machine punches him back, so chaplin gets mad at the machine, and punches it hard ...

we laugh at the comic hillbillies who run a feud, shooting forever across the valley at the other family - and yet it is us

we have been made to feel so bad about being dumb, that we cannot face the fact that we are being dumb, and so we cannot grow less dumb! - we are LOCKED into dumbness!!! - it will take great intelligence to get us out of this mess - we have great intelligence - everyone can grasp what i am saying here

no one has decided to be dumb - no one has created themselves dumb - no one is responsible for being dumb - so no one need feel bad about being dumb - blame god/mothernature/evolution and get going

what greater service can you do for humanity than to be a master, a fine artist at pursuit of happiness? - nuns full of nastiness and brutality are not being good, they are being very bad, they are very poor artists of happiness

suppose for a moment god existed: unless god is insane, pursuit of sanity is pursuit of god

i think [without conceit, i think] that what i am saying here is crucial to humanity's survival and happiness - let me know if you agree - i need the encouragement - its a steep climb

and thanks, blue ibis, for the starting point

this is fruit of a lifetime's meditation on the troubles of humanity - it is my heart and soul and mind and love - give it a little - writings range in value from zero to infinity - not reading and digesting and taking to heart the most valuable writings hurts you most - beware what you give your time to - it may be of less value than something else

i can prove in a minute that everyone already agrees my plan [at www.globalhappiness.org - not an org] will make everyone 100 times happier - and i cant interest anyone because people have been thoroughly bamboozled and befuddled away from pursuit of happiness

if you woke up tomorrow and everyone was happy and smily and laughy and blithe and chatty, your happiness would be lifted - so even to a selfish person the happiness of others is of concern - caring for others isnt nice and noble, it is practical and selfish in a good sense - you cant stop it being good for you if others are happy, so you cant stop it being selfish to care about others - but that is good selfishness, sane intelligent selfishness, is dutiful pursuit of happiness - we arent very compassionate - so lets be unhurtful for selfish reasons, like the decent and sane animals
