Hugh Manatee Wins said, "Classic disinfo mix of real and wacky... " -- Right-on. Esp., the info doesn't indict the WH Gang with anything esp. criminal -- it's basically insignificant third-hand unverified noise, if anything shows them as quite ordinary fucked-up people -- it demystifies them by providing a priveleged-and-zany-but-human 'face'.

But its just another empty PR-stunt mask that only implies a 'deeper' honesty.

Ted the Dog said:
--quote--
"It was a successful intervention by the Department of Homeland Security by the Department of Defense," Ridge said Thursday on NBC's "Today" show. "They saw it was a Cessna, saw it was a single-engine plane, and they took care of it."

All of a sudden, everyone wanted to hear what Ridge had to say...as long as it wasn't about how the government had, (yet again), duped the American people into being terrified.

I remember thinking, "The American people actually WANT to be lied to at this point...they're getting off on it." Pathetic.
--end--

SHARP observation. Thanks for pointing that out.
This apparant conditioned desire to be lied to -- Jeez, I bet that's the key to a LOT of why people seem to act against their own best interests -- like they are afraid of having their worst suspicians confirmed so they simply contribute to their continued ignorance.

Mention conspiracy or covert action or abuse of power or anything else about the PTB's crimes and the average citizen's eyes glaze-over and they can't hear you ...
Pathetic is right. I keep thinking that to folks like these, reality's inevitable wake-up slap-in-the-face may be a fatal shock.

What about the nation's Karma for decades of public ambivalence as 'secret' crimes of empire pilfered, enslaved, murdered, impoverished, subverted, and terrorized whole nations? It seems a large part of the public wants to be spared the discomfort of acknowledging how ignorant and deceived they were in trusting their 'leaders.

Starman
