Rover rolled over on Cheney? My reaction was oh please as well. As I've said before, and at FDL, Rove's life wouldn't be worth a plug nickel if he did that. Rover is a lot of things- stupid ain't one of 'em.

dbeach, I always stay on the sunny side of the street-you know, the place with all the light.

Quote:
Some are nowhere near Washington, so that is no excuse. I think, thanks to the support of the commenters, # of hits, donations, activist related, and so on, these folks have become enamoured of their own importance. Just as an example, From here

Quote:
June 13th, 2006 at 3:31 pm

I’ve been accused of being short-tempered for the past couple of days, but I would argue that there have been a bonanza of things to be short-tempered about. Put at the top of that list accusations that somehow Patrick Fitzgerald is a bag man for the GOP. I’m announcing now that I have just a little less tolerance for this site devolving into that than Kos does turning his over to the 9/11 conspiracy theorists.

Yer forewarned. Just so nobody is surprised when it happens.

Quote:
June 13th, 2006 at 3:40 pm

huffy 103 — a) No it’s NOT about schadenfreude. Either find another way to express yourself or take a hike. If you want to cry and piss yourself in disappointment, go over to Red State, I think they have a large supply of toilet paper on hand for all the chronic bedwetters they host. Every time there is a big disappointment — and I mean EVERY time — people show up here and take their frustrations out on us. Somehow we’ve been responsible for building their hopes up, and now that things have not played out the way they want they try to refashion history (never with any links) and take a pound of flesh. Well you know, that’s just not fair. And then when we answer directly — that this response is quite patently “bullshit” — people suddenly take the opportunity to “delurk” (like Porta Bella 261) who want to offer us the clear-eyed wisdom of their “reality” and accuse us of banning and deleting people simply because they don’t agree with us (we don’t, and for the record). People are evidently supposed to be able to say whatever they want to us or about us, but if we call bullshit others accuse us of having an “Aravosis moment” (Ed’n'Sted 271).

People need to grow up. You don’t like the news? Tough shit. That’s the real world, I’m not your mommy and it’s not our fault. This is what I’m saying this time, it’s what I said the last time and it’s what I’ll say again. You can take it to the bank.

I specifically remember her comments to Porta Bella, in which she called her "fucked up" "libellous" so on.

I went through all her comments- they have all been cleaned up. That IS some fucked up shit. She can take that site and shove it. And if any of her commenters happen to be reading here who were on the threads that day, YOU KNOW I'M TELLING THE TRUTH.

Those Photos

God, they slayed me.

Greg Lindsay is a prize prick and a terrible 'journalist' and writer and as for Maer Roshan???

Hmmmm... he's the fucking idiot who blew $25m launching that woeful RADAR magazine that lasted for 3 issues.

The educated, head up their asses left are as much a problem as any stink spewer on the right. Same coin. Always the same coin.

Depressing to see all that self-importance and be reminded so vividly that most of my friends actually see these guys as intrinsic the new Dem hope.

Hey NK

Postby yesferatu » Sun Jun 18, 2006 3:20 am

you are so right. I have Sirius, and Sirius allows one "left" channel to 3 or 4 rightwing channels, but Sirius left is full of what you point out. Cenk Uygur of YpungTurks was broadcasting from "yearly Kos" in Las Vegas and he mentioned someone in the convention yelling "9/11 was an inside job!" and Cenk said he was like: "shut up!! shut up!!" You could hear the horror in his voice: "my precious career! my precious opportunities for access to acceptability is being ruined by you!! How tragic for me!!"

Fuckin toads on the left.

yeah Sunny, I hadn't read her comments that much, but that doesn't surprise me she's like that, especially after the Rove deal. They really think they're leading a big movement and so they don't want to see any dissent.

Remember too, she's a Hollywood producer. Not somebody I'd normally buy a used car from.

Quote:
CS called her out last summer

CS is busy now doing the same thing he criticized her for..Not that I approve of either, just stating the obvious. My own underwhelming impression of the Blogosphere is there's power here, but it lies largely underutilized. Instead of pipering the readers into passivity(assuming a non-malicious agenda), I don't see why the main bloggers don't use their stations as rallying points to get the voice of it's READERS out there instead of providing the readers' diets..

You know, instead of milking the very last 'sealed vs sealed' drop from this Fitzmas debacle, why not come out and say something like, "Look people, the game's gone on long enough. Where do you want to go with this now?".

It seems to me that a critical function of purposeful gathering has been lost..

what people are saying doesn't matter. what maters is what people will do. Complain all you want about the failings of kos or any mainstream left, fact is, I'll be on the same side as them when the bullets fly. Where will you be? stop trying to find cointelpro or chocolate factory stuff everywhere, it is counter productive and demoralising and not meaningful. allies may not agree on much of anything, all they need to agree on at this stage is that the bush gang must go down hard. learn to see allies and learn to accept their different vision of the situation. We don't know it all and we're probably wrong about as much as we're right. at best.
