proldic, sometimes your cryptic responses will simply get ignored. I couldn't remember a third author of cointelpro papers so I went to Amazon.com. Sure enough, only two authors listed. Had to "look inside" to see several other names of writers with intros, etc. I assume it is Chip Berlet who you are referencing, but you might as well just say it as it takes a bit of hunting. <br><br> <p></p><i></i>

Seriously, I guess I thought WC might be able to break it down 1st, but what the heck, let's just throw it out there to drive everyone else mad.<br><br>Not only is he Berlet listed as the third author, he's the one who got credited with doing much of their research.<br><br>OK, the other thing is this:<br><br><!--EZCODE BOLD START--><strong>The FBI and Security, Athan Theoharis, author of The FBI and<br>American Democracy</strong><!--EZCODE BOLD END--><br><br>The point is that he's considered the #1 critic of Churchill & VanderWall's work in the press/academia (Marquette), having written two seperate article series in the Washington Post that was also repeated by the NYT, and reprinted by others, followed by an extensive media interview schedule. He's been one of the major defenders of the FBI's cointelpro program, and has made a big part of his career the limiting it's scope, and downplaying it's extent and significance.<br><br>And as for his participation in the event itself, well you can make of that what you will. <br><br><!--EZCODE ITALIC START--><em>Proldic's</em><!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> "cryptic responses"? <br><br>Huh?! Possibilities:<br><br>1) Churchill was 'the man.'<br><br>2) Churchill was bad jacketed as 'the man.'<br><br>3) Berlet helped a sincere Churchill slam the FBI because Berlet plays for the CIA.<br><br>Why would CIA be so interested in neutralizing the FBI? Because the FBI must be sabotaged by CIA infiltrators to prevent CIA criminal projects like terrorism and drug smuggling from being stopped by law-and-order types. See 'John O'Neill and bin Laden.'<br><br>So I choose possibility #3. I was surprised to find info on COINTELPRO at Chip Berlet's own website until I remembered that the FBI is also the enemy of the CIA.<br><br>In yesterday's paper there two AP stories (American Propaganda) that discredited the FBI. I thought "hmm. Must be something the CIA is fighting with FBI about."<br><br>One AP article was about FBI files on celebrities. Not very flattering for the FBI. The second AP article was about Torture Atty General Gonzalez ordering the FBI to assign agents to investigate internet porn. An anonymous FBI agent is quoted as saying "gee, guess the war on terrorism was won." <br><br>May or may not be a real quote but the message being telegraphed with two stories at once is obvious: 'FBI is an irrelevant organization with a political agenda.'<br><br>A double whammy of articles portraying the FBI as rediculous spells 'CIA attack' to me.<br><br>So does Chip Berlet highlighting COINTELPRO with Churchill.<br><br>Doesn't make sense that Churchill would do this unless he is CIA.
