I wonder how long it will be before the White House blames the guy for stepping in into Cheney's line of fire.

This is the most insightful bit in the thread:

Quote:
I think Cheney is history, and that's not for the right reasons. The mafia realized they have to change those horses, bush too, and they have had enough time to groom the next team of front people (hillary ? rice ?). they'll finish the iran mission, limping with scandals, and expire when its over. maybe one more little bomb in the usa, to keep the "achievements" of the war on terror. maybe not needed. with iran, canada is going to be a more interesting arena for plotting. the american public will feel good, that corruption was exposed and defeated, etc. etc.

Cheney's going to have to step down. I believe that Condi will be tapped as Vice President after they get rid of old Shoots-Behind-Himself. Then Hillary will run against her as a Democrat. It doesn't matter which one wins, it'll be the same old, same old. --MaryK

Vice President Elmer Fudd, a hunting he did go...

Postby Al Gomas » Mon Feb 13, 2006 6:34 am

I hope the NRA gives him a medal. Them quail must be the dreaded "Killer Quail" that are slowly infesting the southwest. In the so-called "War on Quail" there is bound to be some collateral damage. Reliable Fox News reports indicate that due to the quick reflexes of the VP, others in the party were saved from horrible deaths in the "killer quail" ambush! Investigative journalist Bill O'Reilly has volunteered to continue the hunt.
Bush says "heck of a job, Elmer"...

Isn't it reassuring to know this nut is in charge of our nukes...

Re:Remember Funeralgate?

Postby chiggerbit » Mon Feb 13, 2006 2:55 pm

This, as far as I'm concerned, is the most interesting point in the whole story:

Quote:
The New York Times reported late Sunday that Whittington was commissioner of the state's Funeral Service Commission. In 1999, George W. Bush, then governor of Texas, named Whittington to head the Commission, which licenses and regulates funeral directors and embalmers in the state. "When he was named," the Times revealed, "a former executive director of the commission, Eliza May, was suing the state, saying that she had been fired because she investigated a funeral home chain that was owned by a friend of Mr. Bush.

"The suit was settled in 2001, but the details were not disclosed."

Anybody remember Funeralgate, back when GW was Governor Goofy of Texas? Maybe it really was a hit.
