I know you might not like to hear these things, but the world is going to hell in a handbasket soon, if you havent noticed. And it will do so EXCEEDINGLY rapidly - within the next few months, in fact - if we all stop caring about it.<br><br>What value does the idea of democracy serve, if the people are wholly ignorant of it?<br><br>I ask you, what value does this civilization have if there is nobody who cares about it?<br><br>I ask you, has the world gone completely insane? But that doesn't mean we should stop trying. <br><br>The bad guys would love it if we all just laid down and let them have at it. <br><br>Even some of the neo-cons are coming out against Bush. That is one glimmer of hope. It's hard to see the battles which are being won against these people when all we hear about are their victories. (see mainstream news)<br><br>Whether or not they are completely stoppable, that I do not know. But we can slow them down and they have met with some staggering defeats in recent months as far as their agenda is concerned. The failure of FTAA is a huge set back for them.<br><br>Mankind will always struggle against despots and dictators. There will always be people who want to rule over others with an iron fist and not allow them any freedom. <br><br>It's the eternal struggle. Don't lose heart or hope. It's what they want us to do. Once that is gone, we're screwed. <br><br>Hang in there 4911, there are more of us than there are of them. 4911,<br>I went to take a look at that board you are talking about.<br><br>I couldn't stomach reading too many of the posts, but those people are a bunch of fluff bunnies and much of the talk over there is about gardening and is personal banter between people who seem to be quite familiar with each other. <br><br>They sound like some sort of social club as opposed to the political boards I frequent. The boards I go to would chew on these people for a snack, spit them out and then laugh about it.<br><br>Seems to me it's mostly republicans who don't know fuck all about politics and are the usual "chipped" people who are doing nothing much but misquoting even mainstream news and are parrotting the Bush agenda. Lost in their own strange world of being happy to have cameras on them because they feel "safe".<br><br>There's no point in going somewhere like that with the truth. They are too far gone. What you are witnessing is the part of America which is asleep, afluent and apathetic. These are the people who will be clobbered the worst if the ptb get their way with us. <br><br>They're the types that will beat people over the head for half a sandwich when they lose their ass in the stock market.<br><br>Don't waste your time with them, they're much too content to lie to themselves, from what I took the time to read there.<br><br>There are far better things to do than try to turn them around.<br><br><br><br> <p></p><i></i>

You might not want to do what I do, but here's a couple of suggestions.<br><br>Start a conversation with your neighbors and get their take on what's going on in the world. And then share yours with them.<br><br> By spreading knowlege to people who will at least talk to you and not automatically dismiss you out of hand, you might plant enough seeds to get them to go look at some information and do their own research. You just have to find their hot button and what they are interested in regarding world events. <br><br>There's hardly a world event the bad guys don't have a finger in, so it isn't hard to send them to info showing how we are manipulated.<br><br>What I found out is that most people I talk to are already suspicious of 9/11 and want to know more about it. <br><br>Find out what you can about what's up with Iran and get the facts on their nuclear ambitions and share that with people. <br><br>Make up some flyers with some good informational websites on them, and a little bit of info that would get someone's attention if they found your flyer. And go to places like Starbucks, or bookstores, malls, where ever you can "accidentally" leave these laying around on tables for people to find.<br><br>Put them on people's windshields in parking lots. <br><br>You won't see the result of putting out flyers like you will when talking to someone. But it will have an impact.<br><br>I use 9/11 for my cause to get people to see what is happening in the world, because I have learned that most people have questions about NORAD's behaviour that day, if nothing else.<br><br>Find a group that believes the way you do and get active with them. There are more real patriots out there than you might think. But be careful when you choose who to associate with. <br><br>Start your own group and have a 9/11 party, invite some people over and show them a movie about it, give them a beer and some popcorn or something. <br><br>It's hard for me to offer up too many suggestions to you because I don't know exactly what all pushes your hot buttons, but you can take any of these suggestions I've made and tailor them to your ideas.<br><br>I know these are not dramatic or huge moves I make, but I do a little bit each day and it helps keep me sane.<br><br> <p></p><i>Edited by: <A HREF=http://p216.ezboard.com/brigorousintuition.showUserPublicProfile?gid=pugzleyca3>pugzleyca3</A> at: 4/19/06 12:28 pm<br></i>
