what we really need for situations like this is our own investivative body. A large organization supported with member donations. Here's how it would operate in this case:
two or three private investigators would be hired or known agents would be activated in the area. Everything about this would be followed up on. We need:
names of the men in the truck
who they were suposed to talk to at the plant
who gave them the bag of $500k in Chicago
when were they in chicago
what were they doing before
who owns the truck
who pays the drivers
what's the name of the contractor whos "tools" they were going to pickup suposedly
why did they leave without the pickup
where are they now

for starters. Then all this info needs to go up for all to see and mirror on the website of the Citizen's Intelegence Agency.

$500 to buy a truck?

Postby Asta » Thu Apr 20, 2006 9:55 am

"Thursday, April 20, 2006
By Cindi Lash, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

When security guards at the Beaver Valley Power Station discovered a bag containing thousands of dollars in a tractor-trailer cab, one of the vehicle's occupants told them his boss planned to use the cash to buy a truck."

So they're trying to tell us that you can't find a truck for sale in Houston? You gotta go to Pennsylvania via Chicago to find a truck? I had no idea we have a truck shortage in this country.

Just hearing about how much they pay Katie Curick (sp) makes me sick...they need to pay real investigative reporters, those who report THE FACTS!!

So, I guess you didn't bother actually reading Cronon's book?

Here's an articulation for you: I'm not so cowardly as you to conceal my contempt for your way of thinking by using passive-aggressive logic traps. You create enough of those for yourself.

Here is a good example of you "playing dumb" instead of just calling me out and looking like the jerk that I think you secretly long to be.

P.S. - I edited that into this comment just to bother you.
"A crooked stick will cast a crooked shadow."
Edited by: thoughtographer at: 4/20/06 4:27 pm

And your answer to my question is ?

Let me repeat my question.

What exactly do you mean, when suggesting that the 'concrete loafers' post above, which can be readily viewed as a veiled warning which is as old as the hills, be also viewed as a threat to your bravery ?

And can you not understand yet, how it amuses me on so many levels ?

I guess its the old 6 degrees of separation again ?

Re: $500 to buy wikifacts.org

Postby anotherdrew » Thu Apr 20, 2006 6:43 pm

as soon as this bag of $500k I've been waiting on get's here I'll be able to get started. Not sure what's taking it so long...

Lot's of the bad guys have huge private databases on private citizens. Wackenhut for one. I see no reason why we shouldn't do the same. Namebase is kinda a start in the right direction really. Probably could throw up a wiki use ssl and accounts. community based reliability rating on sources/posters, automaticly assign another to fact check and so on. Call it perhaps: wikifacts.org perhaps? A large current events clearing house basicly.

But it's actually easy to see why it hasn't happened, folks on this side would rather pick fights and argue with each other than focus on making plans and executing them. <cough> <cough> The plans that is. Well I'm sure there's more to it than that. Let me know who wins, I've got a golden apple for whoever wins the most arguments.

Edited by: anotherdrew at: 4/20/06 4:45 pm

The tools are there as the result of persistent, collective hard work and motivation in the software community, so it shouldn't be too hard to put together the bare bones of what you're proposing.
