What ever happened to the "black hellicoper crowd" from the 1990's when y'all said Bubba was going to do all this crap that *your* "President" BUSHitler is doing NOW?! Huh?! Just curious...

The Limbaughs, Rush's, and other pundits of that ilk haven't changed a bit, only their scripts have. As for the supposed legions of paranoid, anti-government, gun-toting good-ol-boys; I imagine a lot of them got fooled, especially at first. When you look back, that shouldn't be too surprising. Much of the propaganda was really geared to pulling that general demographic in. And, when you contrast that with the negative psy-op war directed against them through much of the Clinton years, you can see how buying in would have been made doubly compelling. Imagine how many on the other side of the politcal spectrum would have relaxed their guard after a Kerry victory in '04 despite every indication he was offering nothing more than a different marketing strategy for the same product.

As to where are they now, my intuition tells me they have been re-awakening in large numbers over the past couple of years. They are a cynical bunch after all. And, a good percentage of them have likely been on high alert since the Summer when all of the militia forums (at least the few that I know of) went down. In fact with the turning up of the heat on the border issue, the high profile FEMA activity, and now rumors of Mexican troops on US soil, I am begginning to suspect someone's trying to get their collective goat.
