Getting em out - or not

Starman I don't blame you for going ballistic. Any govt that wanted to could take care of this disaster better than Chertoff and his minions. He doesn't want to. Bush doesn't want to. Cheney is in his cave.

Look up Chertoff's history and confirm that he is a criminal and a reptile. Those are the credentials that got him assigned to boss of HS. Kill and cover. Today I heard the ass-cover of somebody in a lower agency: "We are following the lead of FEMA." The FEMA that arrived in Manhatten on 10 Sept 01 to make sure that all bases were covered for the next day. The result then as now is plenty of dead people. Who is in charge? Chertoff.

Anderson Cooper

Postby need a name » Thu Sep 01, 2005 8:33 pm

Not to mention the LA dem. had a SMIRK on her face at one time while he was describing the situation and getting very pissed at her! These people are dead/evil/heartless/cold/empty/vile/ruthless. No words to describe what they are. They have ZERO business being the the position that they are in. I officially hate these pathectic excuses for people. They'll make fucking GREAT Nazi's.

Yayia, need-a-name -- I saw the episode with the self-righteous, self-congratulatory Demo-dunce Mary Landreiu who insisted on her message, "We need to thank our Congresspeople for providing funding for the aid of the Kitrana victims' (to paraphrase) which Anderson confronted her with -- Oh MY God! Then she has the effontery to THANK Bush, Bush and Clinton -- while she manages to get-in that she's been involved in rescues -- self-serving witch.

The people stranded in NO are being slowly sacrificed while the so-called 'authorities' are twiddling their thumbs, so dupliciously acting concerned and earnest -- The lack of effective response while officials, against the unarguable fact of video documentation, is a genocidal crime. The 'sniper' threat sounds like a manufactured

Dr. Ruth Bergrenn just reported that all the patients they had finally managed to get moved to an evacuation stage, had been brought back to the hospital because the expected transport services weren't there -- I'm astonished.

Again, FEMA honcho Brown manages to deflect EVERY question about lack of response with bullshit bullshit bullshit--talking about keeping the city 'safe' -- WHAT???

He seems to expect us to believe America has run-out of busses !!!!???? for evacuation. Fact IS, they are SO incompetant there is NOT any effective plan for where to TAKE these people, beyond the 50,000 Texas has agreed to take. So, while no one in authority is taking charge and passing the busk, making use of the elaborate blame-game lessons of the Iraq War and the 911 tragedy, people are dying, almostliterally in front of out eyes. This is simply unacceptable.

I wish I could, or somebody would, organize a rescue-convoy, and deliver these refugees to Bush's Crawford Ranch, or take 'em right to the White House, or Congress -- after all, Congress is People's Property! And so are the National Guard trucks! What's it gonna take, ordinary people taking charge since the troops aren't being given the mission, and the officials aren't giving the orders, to effect an effective rescue?

At least Paula Zahn has been holding some officials to hard questions, but she backs-down and gives them a break instead of holding their feet to the fire.

Good Christ. And making a 'deal' about the busses being 'official' FEMA-authorized.

The pace of evacuation is criminal.
How much more clear can this be?

LIVE on Paula Zahn: There's STILL no water at the convention center, people are dying, people are being victimized, police have been telling them since 7 am that busses are coming. Tishia Walters at the convention center is saying concitions were so bad people were sheltering outside all night, and during the day 6 people died. The lack of communication is ... mind-boggling is too mild. Seriously, there needs to be a massive criminal indictment over these terrible horrors aggravated by uninformed complacency. Again, I'm reminded of FEMA's Brown saying 'We're all doing everything we can.'

I think communities are leery of accepting people who by now are disease-vectors. And NOW a disease-control official is saying they're moving disease-control officials INTO the city -- What good is THAT going to do???

How totally irresponsible. Parts of NO will probably have to be condemned -- whole neighborhoods now are saturated with the most foul, noxious poisons and bacteria and slime-mold spores and heavy-metals and sewage and ... God knows what.

Ah, I'm sorry to be going on like this.
I just feel we MUST hold those who have bungled this rescue so terribly accountable. Especially the leadershipless Head of State Dimwitt.
Starman

Re: FEMA's Brown: He's fucking evil. He talks about convoys supplying the Superdome, but then they don't take people OUT when the truck convoys leave. He just blows off issue after issue -- what a fucking Bush excuse-clone. Absolutely disgusting. And then he says, he had NO idea that the Convention Center needed help until noon today. I HOPE somebody is documenting who knew what when and when/what they authorized.

Brown et al

Postby rapt » Thu Sep 01, 2005 10:34 pm

It is kind of late to act all insulted starman. The program is inhumane by design; it is expected that the public, the "victims," will by disbelief reject the very concept that "humans" can ignore their feelings so cruelly. First fatal error: assuming he is human.

Hey he's got the position so he must have the trust and qualifications. I can ignore the uncomfortable evidence that he'd rather have me dead. So I will. He wins.

Slightly off-topic, in regard to an earlier post: Ceausescu was not a leader of the Iron Guard. As a Communist, he opposed them.

I think you're confusing him with Ion Antonescu, proldic.

US won't let Canada Help

Postby greencrow0 » Thu Sep 01, 2005 11:18 pm

Is this still the case?

www.dailykos.com/storyonl...235829/261

There really are no words to describe the criminality of the Bushies. They surely do sadistically thrive on the suffering and deaths of their fellow human beings.

And the people who put up with them and don't boot them out are just as much responsible for what's going on. Get off your couches, Americans, and boot out the NeoCons...like I told you to do three years ago. They'll bring you nothing but death and destruction.

Until you kick them out you will spiral down, down. Once you kick them out the international community we will help you recover your place in the world. Your place in the World??? What IS that?

Your place in the world is that of a large, relatively new country that has a lot of energy to offer the rest of the community of nations, but is devoid of the deep history and wisdom of some of the other large, not so large [and larger] countries....you have a well supplied army and technology but these have proven to be of as minimal affect on a small backward country...IRAQ as they were in Vietnam. Learn your place in the family of nations...and show respect to the rest of the planet [i.e., get rid of Bolton] and you will survive this debacle. If you don't, then God help you.

Soon it will be time to do to the US what the world community did with South Africa when that country would not respect basic human values....sanctions.

Meanwhile, back in your neighborhood

Postby Ferry Fey » Thu Sep 01, 2005 11:48 pm

It's hard to say what we can do for the people in New Orleans, in the face of such massive mis-management.

But this is surely the time to be paying attention to those in charge of emergency plans in your own town. Are they paying attention? Do the fuckups in New Orleans register so that they know to do something more effective if a disaster happens where you are?

I was pleased to see a sign on the highway this evening. Instead of advertising the week's specials at their business, one firm had changed their highway message board to read "Bush get off your ass and help those people."

What about the FEMA camps?

Postby heyjt » Fri Sep 02, 2005 12:15 am

OK boys and girls... for years we have heard about the mysterious FEMA camps that were to be activated to house and control dissidents. Has anyone else mentioned this? It's not that I want to see this happen, but one would think if they were going to send half-a-million people somewhere they might activate the alleged camps. On the generous, compassionate side, it would provide people a hell of a lot better hangout than a superdome.(maybe) On the neferious side, it would give them a chance to test the program.
Perhaps they don't want to reveal the existence of the camps yet.
Any thoughts?

Thank you starman.

All countries should participate in the rescue of the coastal states. All countries that are able should take in the refugees until the area is rebuilt.

My feeling now is that the coastal areas should be returned to their original condition as protective marshes. The city of New Orleans should be rebuilt a couple of hundred miles inland and the shoreline preserved as a memoral park and protective marshland for endangered species.

Then the people could return. It would take a couple of years and tremendous effort plus a commitment to the Kyoto plan or better on the part of the US.

Regards,

GC
