My daughter just told me that she has talked with a couple of different people in the past who have received services and goods like clothing, housing, etc. from the Red Cross after their homes burned, and months later received a BILL for all of those services, goods. Another thing she has observed is that vouchers given by the Red Cross have to be sales taxed when they are used. Does this mean that the Red Cross is not a charity?

I know some people who work in the Red Cross, and they are dedicated, caring people.

Ask any of the thousands of people who are, at this moment, receiving food, water, and other aid from the RC if they'd prefer to be without it.

There may be structural problems with the RC, but the organization is composed of people whose main concern is to help others in times of need. And they have a proven track record of doing that.

I don't trust the Red Cross. I'm not talking about the people who work for them, I am talking about the organization.
