Here is a story about sex slave trafficking in the US:

www.nytimes.com/2004/01/2...&position=

Notice also all the painstaking hoops the editors had to go thru in the "corrections" at the end of the article due to challenges to its veracity such as this (worth a read to see that the original article got somebody upset):

slate.msn.com/id/2120331/

Note that the critique wants to use numbers from NYT, the State department (whose numbers are actually pretty upsetting on their own merits) and, yes, the Voice of America...that epitome of objective journalism.

Note also how the "false memory" argument has to be acknowledged in the original argument. Now, evidently you don't have to be hypnotized by evil therapists to have false memories, you simply have to be DID (called MPD in the corrections of the article.)

One of the things I've always thought was a very BAD argument against RA type "sacrifices" was the one that says, if so many people went missing, we'd know it.

Well, first off...no you wouldn't. I posted elsewhere a recent article that shows the Justice Department has absolutely NO IDEA how many kids go missing each year, despite very clear guidelines for local law enforcement to immediately report such cases. This has been going on since the law was passed in 1990.

Add to that the number of people brought into the country illegally...and certainly you have an ample supply of victims for all kinds of illegal activities. And since they are illegal AND since many in the power structure probably make use of their services...you can definitely assume the official numbers are low.
