Let's look at this another way.

I have a best friend and he's Jewish. My wife is Jewish. I have been known to read books by, and about, Jews. I've taken part in Passover seders. I've written articles about my concerns with anti-Semitic conspiracies taking root in forums like this one.

Does that make me a Jew? IT DOESN'T LOOK GOOD, huh?

If so, my Irish ancestors would be very surprised to hear that.

You can't logically say "Roman Polanski is a Satanist" just because YOU think the evidence is suggestive. And it's not up to me to defend that charge against him. You can say "I think the evidence supports the possibility that Roman Polanski is a Satanist." But to label him one, when it's only speculation, is simply wrong.

I'm sure I'll be labeled a "Satanist Apologist" and an Illuminati infiltrator soon enough for not agreeing. Isn't that the way this game works?

A lurker wades in...

Postby The Shrike » Thu Jul 21, 2005 6:05 pm

I have been lurking for months now and agree with the comments about the quality of the posts. The bottom line is simply this: I expect that FourthBase read the initial post and within seconds (and without even really thinking) wrote his post equating Polanksi as a Satanist. That isn't a condemnation - just a statement of reality. We all do it - I know I do. It was a knee jerk reaction. But what I think this message board calls us to do is to move past knee-jerk reactions.

Is Polanksi a Satanist? Based on the information supplied after the fact by FourthBase it does smell fishy but the best one can say is that it is possible. To make the initial statement on the basis of the evidence provided is, quite simply, too much of a stretch. Possible? Yes. A fact. No.

professorpan quite rightly "called bullshit" - he demanded that a higher standard of proof be applied. We all know that there are people who would read a post that says "Polanksi = Satanist" and believe it to be true. Generally speaking, the difference with this group has been its ability to think deeper. With all the disinfo in this game we all win when we undertake a more critical examination of the issues.

PS - Rigorous - your site and this Board are fantastic. From a western Canadian...keep up the good work. I now retreat back to my work at Miskatonic...

fcos.us/aslv.html

LEGEND: One of ASL's [Anton Szandor LaVey's] most widely-accepted falsehoods is his claim that he served as technical advisor for the 1968 Roman Polanski film Rosemary's Baby. ASL also claimed to have played the curiously-uncredited part of the Devil in that film.

REALITY: ASL had no involvement with Rosemary's Baby. Polanski's close friend Gene Gutowski (original producer of the film) stated that there was no technical advisor, nor did ASL ever even meet Polanski. Producer William Castle, who details all aspects of the film's production in his autobiography, never mentions ASL. He does describe Polanski's diligence in basing the film exactly on the Ira Levin novel from which it was adapted, eliminating any need for technical advice. The father of the actress who played Mia Farrow's body-double in the Devil scene recalled that a young, very slender professional dancer played the part, dressed in a small rubber suit. In 1971 this suit was acquired by Studio One Productions in Louisville, Kentucky, for use in a low-budget horror film Asylum of Satan. Michael Aquino, technical advisor for that film, examined the suit and concluded that the 200-pound, 6-foot ASL could not possibly have worn it. [The suit was worn by a girl in the Asylum film.] Not a single member of the cast or crew of Rosemary's Baby has ever mentioned ASL's involvement. In 1968 a San Francisco theater did ask ASL to make an appearance at the film's local opening as a promotional event. This appears to have been ASL's only connection with the film that engendered the 1960s' popular interest in Satanism.

SOURCES: Gene Gutowski; William Castle, Step Right Up! OK, so who played Satan in it, then?
Shouldn't that be documented somewhere?

www.imdb.com/title/tt0063522/fullcredits
Nothing from imdb.com

Funny enough, check this out:

www.imdb.com/title/tt0063...4#12580064

"Yes I Can", the autobiography of Sammy Davis, Jr. was placed on Rosemary's bookshelf by Polanski. Anyway, here's the relevant entry from RI:

Quote:
Interestingly, Davis writes of an earlier brush with Hollywood's occult underground. In the late 1960s, he accepted an invitation to a party thrown by actors whom he knew to be practicing occultists. The party became a ritual orgy, which concluded with a virgin's simulated sacrifice. Sammy was shocked to discover that the hooded figure leading the ritual was his own hairstylist, barber-to-the-stars Jay Sebring. In retrospect, perhaps it shouldn't have been such a surprise, as Sebring had previously invited Davis to visit the dungeon he'd constructed in his basement, and see the antique torture implements he'd collected.

The cat was always "a little weird," writes Sammy.

rigorousintuition.blogspo...n-did.html

Do you think maybe Polanski was there?

Don't believe the (anti-) hype..

Postby proldic » Thu Jul 21, 2005 10:30 pm

Fully agreed, Pan, -rigorous- attention to the specific phrasing of how we approach our questions/accusations is vital, even in an "insider" forum such as this.
Is this a semantic debate that is very important?
Was Polanski a Satanist - capital S?
Certainly he lived a satanic ethos. He was more than just dabbling in the occult. Like Sammy Davis (who was used to awshucksin' with "evil white men", what a peacock feather in La Vey's technicolor dreamhood.)
Polanski's degeneracy/dowhatyawant is obvious to those with a heart. Even up to his recent movies, like Bitter Moon, and 9th Gate, the fixation with evil or "satanic" influence is palpable.
With Benedict Canyon, he was only a heartbeat away - from what is the question?
Hollywood creep with a taste for the dark side?
Practicing occultist?
Card-carrying member?
Does this matter as part of formulating a broader, cohesive argument that can be "taken public", talking about the role of intel-connected cult-fronts during the late '60's?
The picture of LaVey as circus carny is true to a great degree, but a lie to a greater degree. However, in that cos bio anon posted you see an example of how they attempt to overplay that angle to obscure his parapolitical roots.
The "reality" is he didn't work on the film directly. So M.A. disproves this role by talking about the suit, while the more important truth is lost, the truth that the intel-connected satanic orgs and other occult groups held massive sway over the hollywood crowd in that day.
It's would be foolish to assume that many hollywood movies with occult themes did not use "advisors" from that community, either credited, or not.
Just like Bruckheimer et al used Defense Department advisors to brainstorm "independence Day", "Day After Tommmorrow", etc. As a recent example, yesterday mainstream science breaks the fact that it's sleep pyschosis that's the cause of all that nastiness...and it was in the CSI script by nightfall.
That cos bio is part of the "working" to get us to forget questions like: what the -hell- were those three boys doing over there working for US intel, anyway?

Polanski wins Vanity Fair libel case

Postby RebelYell » Fri Jul 22, 2005 11:43 am

LONDON (Reuters) - Roman Polanski won his libel case against Vanity Fair on Friday, ending a week-long trial in which he gave video evidence from Paris to avoid extradition to America where he is wanted for having sex with a girl aged 13.

The film director was awarded 50,000 pounds ($87,500) in damages, and his solicitors estimate that Vanity Fair's bill could run as high as 1.5 million pounds.

The 71-year-old went to court in London to sue the magazine's publishers over an article in July 2002 alleging he had tried to seduce a woman in a New York restaurant while on his way to his slain wife's funeral in August 1969.

Vanity Fair conceded the article was inaccurate, saying the incident actually took place weeks after Sharon Tate's murder by followers of the Charles Manson clan, but maintained the gist of the contested passage in the article was true.

"It goes without saying that, whilst the whole episode is a sad one, I am obviously pleased with the jury's verdict today," Polanski said in a statement.

"Three years of my life have been interrupted.
