I checked the internet for references on this book, I am not it is for safe here in ISrael, checking this too. I forwarded the references to the people who represent the victims. It seems that in fact she is supporting the government's claim that this was "Standard" care at those times, for ringworm, and not an intentional experimentation. But perhaps in the book (which I have not seen as I said), she implies that all those "cosmetic practices" were in fact experimentation through disinformation and abuse of private clinics etc. I will have to look into her manuscript. At best, the government was very reckless in this mass treatment based on racial profiling. It is still a mystery why a public health service, at those turbulent times, should be suddenly so concerned with "ringworm" to the extent of spending more than its entire annual budget, on the radiation. Some things just don't make sense in the official explanation, even if this was acceptable, if somewhat cutting edge, cosmetic treatment back then. ..I am not sure the truth will ever emmerge fully.
