good find! morning musume is a all girl large group type j-pop group. I don't generally like pop music, but when they sing it I just have to admit it works... well, OK, the music videos help.

Looks like a monitor lizard, known for nasty tempers and voracious appetites, and a bunch of girls with pork chops on their foreheads. Not a safe combination, anyway. But funny faces... I wonder if they'd get away with that here?

Hey, the Japanese have a different sense of humor. I heard of an Anime film in which the main characters were badger-like, and their primary weapon was their testicles which they could magically enlarge at will, crushing opponents... --MaryK

it's a typical Japanese variety/game show ( the genre of 'let's put ordinary people in ridiculous situations and see how they react' is much, much bigger in Japan than here, and has been for decades ) but the Icke part is what makes it RI material: lizards chasing after young women with meat on their foreheads is a veritable cornucopia of Icke-style reptilian symbology, although in this case I'm sure it's unintentional.

marykmusic - I think the anime you refer to is often seen here in the us titled pon poko here's a quick sumary. Any and all Studio Ghibli films are well worth seeing, even dubbed. If I remember corectly, the testicles thing is just one moment, not a major focus.
"The wild tanuki has unusually large testicles, a feature often comically ..."
"The Tanuki's big testicles are not a sexual symbol, and the Japanese are more tolerant of low humor than Americans."

>>>
A great Studio Ghibli film available for the first time on DVD, this is Heisei Tanuki Gassen, or "Raccoon Wars" in English.

When a clan of tanuki (a small dog in Asia similar to a Raccoon, called a Raccoon Dog) is threatened with the destruction of their home and possible extinction, they fight back using everything from magic to their wits to stop the humans from invading. But how does a small group of mammals stop bulldozers or construction men many more times their size? It's a fierce battle and both sides are not without their losses. Humorous, heartwarming, and heart-breaking enjoy this Hayao Miyazaki-produced Studio Ghibli gem by Isao Takahata.

In a book by... was it Tom Wolfe (whatever the name was, who wrote "Another Roadside Attraction" and "Skinny Legs and All") these are a main character. I LOVE that guy! And yes, VERY sexual creatures... --MaryK
