Some, as described by Paracelsus, are fully created. Some, as described in Yeats’ poem above, are dolls serving as vessels harboring a spirit or entity by means of blood and/or spermae. Other mystics, such as the Chelas of Hindu magick, summon earthbound spirits to infest the body of a corpse also by means of vitae sustenance (I describe this in Testimony of the Vampyre Vicutus under Demonic Infestations).<br><br> Modern television has preserved the literature and folklore of previous homunculi types: Pinocchio; Marry Shelley’s Frankenstein ( 1818 ); The Ginger Bread Man; Magic; Puppet Master; Chucky; and the soap opera Passions which features Timmy, the living doll of a witch.<br><br> Magick has paved the way for today’s science, which has perfected developing the test-tube baby as well as potential cloning projects.<br><br> Many homunculi have difficulty with movement. This is probably due to the mechanical make-up of the figure. Some simply sit there and hold conversation with slight, robotic gestures.<br><br> To raise such life-forms one must fully understand the Power of Self and the Powers which surround. Faith, the Will, and the imagination may accomplish much. When one has attained such levels, one may use any form of ceremony to bring life into inanimate (statuette) objects. These magicians dare not leave their homes without first asking permission of the puppets and telling them how long they are going to be away. If the puppet reply that it is too long, then they dare not undertake the journey or in fact do anything to upset the puppets...<br><br> Gentil or Gentien le Clerc reported that he (Nevillon) could get more out of his puppet than out of God. He said that he had often seen Nevillon's puppet which looked like a big black toad covered with black fur. It was kept in a box beneath a tile on the floor, which jumped and lifted when the toad wished to be fed. He said that he had seen it again six weeks later in Nevillon's bedroom and on another occasion he saw Nevillon carrying it under his coat. Nevillon told him a dozen times that he would get one for him, if he liked, and that there was more to be gained from the puppet than from God.
