Ah now Ive really attracted some flak.

I never read Mein Kampf so I cant really say...

but: he rebuilt the entire country, gave the germans their Autobahnen, started to lead them back to a relatively prosperous economy. That was before he pulled the reichstag thing and the WWII thing and everything fell right back apart. He gave them something to believe in, for a while at least. In the end they believed more than was good for them. I wont for a second deny he turned out to be a psychopathic powerhungry speedfreak on a final burnout...and that he was an asshole and simply wrong about one hell of a lot of things, made the totally wrong choices as a leader.

Dont misunderstand me : Hitler was a loser, his way sucked, and he probably was overcompensating for having a small dick or something. I dont endorse his policies or anything that came out of him. I dont endorse Bush either, I should mention.

And Id like to ask you : which part of the PNAC is the good part?

Edited by: 4911 at: 6/30/06 12:10 pm

Your history is as weak as your metaphysics, but despite your reference to a "client" I'm wondering if maybe you aren't just really young.

However, you've superseded yourself:

Quote:
Im not sure, but I cant guarantee that everyone in the McDonalds joint wasnt completely fed up with their lives on some deep level and just asking for a death they couldnt be blamed for.

That is simply sick.

Hey good try. Im not trying to change your mind about anything, dreams end. Are you taking this personally? Wasnt intended as such.

Im totally open to the possibilty that I could be wrong, too. Only, I cant prove Im wrong.

I dont know about if thats sick, either.

Why do you think its sick?

Edited by: 4911 at: 6/30/06 12:16 pm

re hitler

Postby friend catcher » Fri Jun 30, 2006 2:16 pm

Wish I had time but a quick recap on the basics of history;

Reichstag was burned just prior to his election, allegedly by a dutch anarchist who was then guillotined.
The Election itself gave the nazis a lower share of the vote than they'd accrued in the previous election because the german economy had begun its recovery from the doldrums of the general depression. They initiated a basic public works scheme that simultaneously banned all union activities outside of the Nazis own industrial union. the autobahn was primarily initiated as as an artery for the military industrial society that the nazis and all the leading capitalists of Germany had agreed to. The concept of national socialism having the interests of Germany as it's concern is akin to claiming Rove and Cheney are working for the greater good of the USA.

On edit The interesting aspect of the German economy right up untill 1945 was that it strived to fulfill all the demands of consumerism as it then stood, even to the detriment of armaments production. Fear of popular unrest was inbuilt within the nazi phsyche, maybe because popular unrest had helped them to the top. I don't think the majority of people voted nazi on hard ideological convictions, electorates seem to be simpler than that.

Edited by: friend catcher at: 6/30/06 2:32 pm

never said there was a good part to PNAC.

And, you forgot to mention that Mussolini made the trains run on time too.

That and Hitler building autobahns and re-militarizaing Germany (which required massive public works projects which would have helped to jump-start their economy) can hardly be described as the 'good parts'.

Kinda like saying the DOW hitting an all time high during George Bush's presidency was the 'good part' of his admin's assault on the Constituion, use of pre-cog wars, torture and 911 hoax. Sorry, you can't disconnect these things. You must also look what was happening contemporaneously, and what he wrote before hand.

Your reading of history is very sorry indeed.

- On edit - I like the way friend cather put it. Much better then my attempt.

Edited by: isachar at: 6/30/06 12:18 pm

oops, i could stand corrected...but

"because the german economy had begun its recovery from the doldrums of the general depression."

wasnt it cuz of him that the economy had begun its recovery though? I thought he was doing stuff with his worker party that set the volk back on a prosperous track before he ever got "elected"?

Edited by: 4911 at: 6/30/06 12:25 pm
