What seems to be going on here is a True Believer trying to get a bunch of Critical Thinkers to simply believe Hannah's tale because SHE believes it. And I'm here to tell ya, that will never, ever happen. I began life as a True Believer and gradually changed myself into a Critical Thinker, so I understand what it's like to be on both sides of this discussion.

I'll never go back to being a True Believer, because that resulted in my being exploited for most of my life by people with no consciences and no scruples. IOW, I changed under pressure, not voluntarily. Left to my own devices, I would have stayed a happy True Believer with great trust in my own judgement and very little suspicion of other people's motives. There are millions of people like that and as long as they don't run into too many sociopaths, they seem to me to do OK. Except when devious politicians exploit them, of course, but that's another thread topic.

The truth is that I perceived Hannah as probably not genuine. I'm willing to extend the benefit of the doubt to her as far as whether SHE actually believes her own story, but I still won't believe it's true, even if she does--I know too much about mind control to ever do that. Perhaps if I knew less about the UFO/alien disinformationists, I would have fallen for it, but I DO know about them and how they work and Hannah sounds like a poster child for them, to me.

bamabecky will have to produce proof that she can't and doesn't feel she has to produce, by her standards, before most of the rest of us will believe Hannah's story is for real, so the thread really doesn't seem to me to have anywhere left to go. Unless of course someone else does have proof or at least can personally vouch for elements of it.....

LilyPat

I think that there is a shred of..."because Hannah is a good Christian she has to be telling the truth."....or...."becuase Hannah is a Woman who washes her own clothes yadda, yadda, yadda..she has to be telling the truth."

For me I use stories like these not to discourage me, but to encourge me that they have to put out this kind of stuff. When they do it's obvious that certain aspects of whatever the hell there doing is creeping into the sphere of reality for Humanity. That it is no longer "Conspiracy" but more "probability".

For all the weird shit I spout on this board I think bv's point is valid. But to get really semantic about it...

Whats a UFO? An unidentified aerial object. Of course they exist. We are talking about the implications of UFos; what are they - sun dogs, weather balloons, tin ships from venus, something else, some combination of all of the above? And what are the possible consequences of this?

Sure your bro saw a UFO, unless he was lying to you.

But that doesn't mean he saw an alien spaceship, or a reverse engineered human aircraft.

Nor does it mean that even if he saw something anomolous that it was a technological construct or even a conscious/aware kind of thing, could hace been some weird "swamp gas" of any number of other weird "normal" events.

On the level of did Hannah see "something", I am inclined to disbelieve her. Simply because it doesn't ring true to me. Too many fear based, and other, memes inserted and structured in a way to have a determined effect on my uncritical responses. Well thats how it seems.

On that level extraordinary proof would be required to convince me she is on the level.

Thats unfortunate cos I could apply the same test to my own stories, and the fall pretty short too. None the less they happened...

So I guess I think she's lying.
